History with a 'Twist'

I'm starting a new league, Twisted History Baseball, which will take players randomly from baseball history, normalize them, and drop them into baseball history from the beginning (1871) onward.

and received some interest, but thought it would be good to post again while activity is very high due to the release of OOTP5.

I will not be running a team in this league, so there will be no clash of interests as I will be responsible for determining (randomly) who comes into the league each season as rookies.

The 1871 initial pool has already been done - included in the first group of folks are Jeff Bagwell, Orel Hershiser, Vince DiMaggio, Lou Brock, Babe Dahlgren, Amos Rusie and many others. They will all be normalized to 19th century baseball.

Players who debuted in years ending in '2' will be the pool of potential rookies for 1872. Then we'd use a potential pool of players debuting in years ending in '3' for 1873, and so on.

The homepage for the league is up. This is still a work in progress, though, so please bear with me. I hope to have a league file up by tomorrow.

The following is the possible team lineup - the eight first teams picked will be teams in the league (as we can't have nine):

Boston Red Stockings - TAKEN
Chicago White Stockings - TAKEN
Cleveland Forest Citys
Fort Wayne Kekiongas
New York Mutuals - TAKEN
Philadelphia Athletics - TAKEN
Rockford Forest Citys
Troy Haymakers - TAKEN
Washington Olympics - TAKEN
