1st time player looking for league

Hey all...I just got this game a few weeks ago and am still learning the nuances of it. I'm having a blast so far and can't wait for GeForce's full update to get my real solo game cranking away.

But I'm also interested in possibly joining an online league...but I don't want to join a highly competitive one quite yet as I'm about as green as they come with this game. Does anyone have a league out there that would be great for a first time player and could help me out a bit with some of the features of OOTP5 unique to online or franchise?

I'd definitely be active and interested, but just new

Thanks a lot!!!

If you would enjoy a league beginning with players in the 60's (1963 to be exact), take a look at 4Ever Baseball. The league will be starting on Opening Day - March 31. The rules are very simple, nothing fancy, just basic OOTP5 rules. And even though we sim daily, we only sim 2 or 3 games per day, so it would be slow enough for you to really enjoy and learn online league play. We have several online league vets that are great to work with. And I would be glad to help you get your feet wet in online league play.

There are still some good teams left as well. Take a look and if you're interested, drop me a line or fill out the online app.

Enjoy and good luck!

dawgdchi, if 4Ever baseball looks good to you, snag the Indians if they are still available. Willie Mays in his prime and the best group of young players in the league. Plus, simming 6 days out of the week will allow you to micro-manage your team.

Good luck, you will enjoy your online adventures. It is incredibly addicting.

Indeed, that is one of the great things about playing in a historical league. Playing in the PWBL, opening season was 1946, has clued me in on a ton of fine players I was unaware of.

Figuring out how to get maximum results from players of different eras is a cool challenge as well.

The AI is much better in online play as well.

LOL...yeah...I bet

I kinda wish it was mid 70's...but as I said...it'll teach me a lot about the era. I've got an uphill fight though...I have the Tigers who have really good pitching prospects...but their current team took some serious punishment in the simmed season. Hopefully I can claw my way up the ladder.

We'll see

I may do something similar to this on my own where I run a mid 70's historical league solo. I think that could be a blast!
