The League File will be released very soon for Classic MLB so join today because you don't want to miss this league!

Tired of steroid monsters blasting 70+ homers a year? Wish the players in your league look familiar and didn't have names like John Doe or Jimmy Unknown?

Then Classic MLB is for you! Real players from the great 1980s and baseball played the way it should be played...no home run derbys here! Just great pitching, base stealing, and strategy!

Look forward to seeing you in the league...

If you have league totals that are historically accurate for each year, there will be a home run explosion in '87.

’86

I wouldn’t call it a ‘home-run explosion’ but a couple of people will get close to 50. More teams hit 200 home runs that year than ever before I think. There was a sharp increase in league batting average that year though.

A 17% increase in home runs qualifies as an explosion in my book. Did BA increase by that amount in '87?

I do plan on adjusting league settings each season to reflect changes in offensive/pitching numbers. I believe offense went up in 1987 as you said and then back down again in 1988. I would have to check the actual numbers to verify that.

Of course this is not a true replay of history so it is hard to say exactly what will happen based on the moves & decisions that the league owners make and how players develop.

It should be very interesting!!
