Owners pages

I tried my hand at making a couple owner's pages for our league and think they turned out decent. They are the first pages I've ever made on my own so go easy on me, but constructive criticism is appreciated. I set them up to look best in 1024 x 768, not sure that was a good idea, does everyone use 1280x1024 these days? Good, Bad, Ugly? Any tips on improvement? Thanks

Heres another route I was thinking of going with it. I set it for higher resolution. Not complete, but should get an idea of where its going.

I like the clean look to it. I would just watch out where the text gets moved around (at least at the reso I have set).

Check the Yankees to see what I mean.

I believe if you check some studies, you'll find that the most common setting is 800 x 600.

Hmm, I can't get the Yankees to do anything weird. Does it drag New York to one line and pull the owner name halfway up to the logo?

Interesting. I figured with OOTP5 not running in full screen at 1280x1024 that most people around here would probably use that one. Is nice if your doing other things while your simming.

Nicely done!

As for resolution, I usually design with 1024x768 in mind. I know of people that still use 8x6, and even those that use 640x480, but both of those resolutions restrict screen real estate too much.

You just need to make sure your design is still readable at the minimum 8x6.

The pages themselves look great, nice work.

I did run into a small problem getting them to display in Mozilla. If I view the pages with the Mozilla browser, then I get the following error:

Not Found
The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it. Please inform the site administrator of the referring page.

Looks like it's trying to do a redirect or something, or possibly Mozilla's choking on the JavaScript somehow (I'm not quite sure what the JavaScript does on that page).

Anyways, it looks great with Internet Explorer, but if you have any owners using Mozilla/Netscape or any of the derivatives, you might want to get them to check it out, see if they have the same problem.

Nice work!

Thanks all. Ill keep plugging away at them and see what I can figure out. I know some others had the problem in Mozilla and Netscape. I should be able to sort that out, least I hope so.

I'll see what I can do about making them more friendly for lower resolutions. I imagine the ball park thing that Im working on is a nightmare for those. Pretty simple pages I suppose, but it's a start.

Nah, you could do it no problem. I just downloaded this freeware:
SiteGenWiz and that does most of the work. I don't like the style it puts out, but if you have it create the individual page and save it and edit out the stuff it wants to tack on, it works out pretty good.

your pages look quiite good.. if you want ideas as to what to do with the Owner's Page, check out the EBL page or the NABL page... both fairly decent... one has a brief history of the franchise, the other stadium pics....

I do like those. The only criticism I would have is the email address kinda being the eye popper in the text line. Since its usually something people just copy/paste or click, or maybe thats just me. A link to the ootp team page would be nice on there too. I kinda shyed away from adding the accomplishments such as division winner/lcs champ etc, only because I couldn't decide if it would be better to include the teams titles as a whole or for the current owner only.
