Best Online Leagues
Trying to get a gauge on some of the best online leagues around here so I can form a poll (up to 20 leagues) of which are the most reputable and worthwhile to join.
Simply list which leagues you enjoy(ed) being a part of. Last edited by sixfour210; 10-27-2003 at 06:35 PM. |

I also think the Summer of '49 deserves to be listed here. Nathan has done an outstanding job with recreating the 1950s in numerous ways.
I'll leave it to other people to talk about the CDL, since I am admittedly biased.

And though I'm not in the league, Shiba (http://www.snowballhidalgo.com/) seems like a fun place to play as well. If I ever find myself with more free-time, I'll drop an app to that place.

Crackerjack - 13 seasons and going strong with approx 75% original owners, unsung Commish, started in 1970 season
ORB - great owner base, "writing" league, 6th season, started in 1982 season Shiba - 10th season, uses the Ankit database, great historical accuracy, no hype, runs smooth as silk, started in 1947 season Links are in my sig

BMIL (Baseball Manager Internet League) - I've seen quite a few OOTP leagues and I've taken the time to visit every league. I can say that the group of people, the live chat room activity every night make it awesome to trade , great people to talk to, and a well run and intelligent group overall.. It's been around since 1998 and the beauty if how they've been able to filter out the good and bad gm's over that period of time.. theres more active on the chat line of irc than the forum but great overall
and if i had a 2nd choice, I really admire that Computer Baseball League www.bmil.net

Here's a plug for the USBA. You won't find a harder working or more creative bunch of individuals as far as league input, articles, and suggestions. Of course no one will ever give up their spot meaning turnover is practically zilch, so if you are compiling this list in order to determine which are "worthwhile to join", the USBA won't make the cut

Hello, I'll throw our hat in:
The American Baseball League has a history dating back to 1901. We're currently in the 2005 season. We have had one owner change in the last two seasons (and that was due to an unfortunate circumstance that had nothing to do with his performance in the league)...we've had several original owners still very involved with the league, and several have joined my football project (using Total Pro Football). Non-owners can join the league as a player, and several have done so (you can do that through my sig). Our site is www.thepostgamereport.net . It's not the flashiest site, but will undergo a change when I start my huge sports universe project after I get married. I don't expect to win anything here...I'd just like to get the league some exposure, and give something the owners deserve. |

I have to nominate the most well run and most organized league I am in....... WBL http://www.fhockey.com/WBL/
It isn't an old league, but there are few who are as organized, dedicated (doesn't run a team) or willing to do everything for his people as this commish. It's just my toss in. |

I am not holding my breath. In my online OOTP 'career' I have made the playoffs 13 times and I have yet to win a championship.
