New 1950'S League.

I have started a league in the 1950's. To be exact the league will start in 1954. The league site is http://www.freewebs.com/baseball50/. We will go along with it just as baseball did. When a new team comes into the league we will have it. If you wish to join this league please e-mail me at grindz@csikds.org or catch me or mike on AIM at ootp5nut or grindmachine5000. Also OOTP is not required. It will be first come first serve. It is already filling. The site will be done within 15 min. as mike is loading the league page on. Just about forgot the name of the league is Turn Back The Clock Baseball.

We had some trouble with freewebs so we are now making a new website. It will be up by 8:00pm tomorrow as I will be gone all day. You can start joining now though. We have no teams taken yet but we have 4 owners. The site will be up by 8:00 hope to get some owners by then. Remember contact me or Mike.

The home page is still in the early stages and will get better in the next few days.

The League should fill fast with just 16 teams in 1954. If interested email grindz@csikds.org and give him a list of teams you are interested in.

True, it is not actually a crime. However, it is receiving a lot of the benefits of this game without paying for it. Owners that do not have the game still get to see their players progress, accumlate statistics, etc. They still get to make trades, resign players, and draft amateurs. However, they did not have to pay the money to do so. I have heard all the excuses from these people so please don't repeat them to me. I just personally think that in a way this is a form of piracy. You know the amount of owners without the game is starting to get ridiculous when you see posts asking for leagues that actually require the game.

True.

For the record, I do own the game (bought it two days after I joined my first league, didnt have to have it) and operate a league which does not require ownership. My reasons for not requiring are that a) I don't want to discriminate and b) I have a number of friends who I want in the league but who don't have the game. A couple of them mentioned they wanted to buy it and while I didnt discourage them from buying it I pointed out that its a little obsolete since the season its for is over. Some went ahead and bought it anyway.

Perhaps I have a different view on things since I operated a league before on Baseball Mogul. There I not only had to enter rosters for all 26 teams (contracted 4) but also had to keep track of salaries and that stuff myself. So I don't feel that entering a few rosters is a big thing.

The piracy thing is intresting but I don't think that really appilies since the game is designed to export thoose pages.

Just seems to me that someone that has the wherewithal to join OOTP and even moreso run OOTP leagues would also have the wherewithal to buy OOTP... But hey some people are just cheap... everyone knows 'em, won't spend a cent on anything they don't have too, mooch off everyone they can etc...

We have 12 openings left. One owner hasn't decided on what team he wants the other teams taken are Braves,Yankees and Red Sox's. The best team in the league the Dodgers are still open lets fill these spots. Also the website will probably change again.
