Online League Server Policy.

OLS Concept: (As written by Andreas)
The OLS hosts ~ 50 active leagues. We want to make this successful concept even better for commishes and GMs, and therefore we've hired a new server which allows us to host the leagues in a much better way.
Each league will get it's own Physical Hosting, it's own web space with a Control Panel which allows the commish to administrate his web space himself. The most important settings are already done by us, so you don't need to have web master experiences. Each league will get it's own mySQL database to implement it's own message board or even a phpNuke site! By default, we will install a phpBB forum for each league.

These are the limits given to each league:

- 200 MB disk space
- 1 GB monthly traffic
- 10 email accounts
- 1 mailing list
- 1 mySQL database

Hosting is only for up to 12 months! Leagues have to provide 6 order IDs (instead of 12!) of the current version of the game. If after 12 months no new version is released for any reason, another 6 IDs of the current version of the game have to be provided by the league for another 12 months of hosting. Alternatively the hosting will cost $50 per year. If a new version of OOTP is available, 6 new order IDs are obligative for each new 12 months.

If the league doesn't provide 6 order IDs (or $50 if there is no new version of the game), the hosting will be canceled after 14 months.

The commish has to fax or mail us a copy of his ID card (or drivers license or something like that, showing name, address and signature) together with the signed AUP and Terms & Conditions:

All leagues are asked to qualify for the new server by sending 6 OOTP6 order IDs to Andreas at andreas@ootpdevelopments.com. If there are any questions or concerns please contact Andreas as well. Don't worry, we'll try to find a solution for any problem.

We're sure the new server will be a great improvement for all leagues. Especially the database account for each league will bring us exciting new league sites. We're looking forward to it!

In addition, here is some relivant OLS stuff:

#1 Don't give away your order IDs!!!!

Sometimes bad people will try to steal your ID, pretending they are starting a league on the OLS and needed the IDs as a proof of purchase.

DONT'T GIVE YOUR ORDER ID TO ANYBODY!

So, if anybody wants to set up a new league on the OLS please use this procedure:

Everybody who wants to set up a league on the OLS please ask your team owners to send their full name and their order ID directly to Andreas' email account andreas@ootpdevelopments.com. Let the mail's subject be something like "Order ID for XY" (where xy is the league's abbreviation).

You'll find your order ID in the receipt.txt file in your OOTP folder. Don't send it to anybody else but Andreas!

#2 Regarding any change of commissioners

If there is any change in commissioners for a league on the OLS, report the change to Andreas immediately! The commish listed for the league IS responsible for the league even if there is a change in commissioners. The league may continue on the OLS at the discretion of Andreas as long as you let him know, it isn't too much to ask for free space!

Attention commissioners: If you change the responsible commish, make it official! Give Andreas a note!
