C'mon along

Come on and play,
All Century League
Come on and play
It's the best league in the land!
They can play a sim ball game
Like you never played before,
So natural that you want to go to war
That's just the bestest league is what we am,
Honey Lamb!

Come on along,
Let me take you down to hell
Up to the man,
Who's the leader of the ACL,
And if you want to play
The World Series played in ragtime
Come on and play,
All Century League baseball

If this is the sort of lame humor that appeals to you, and you are a fan of time wasting efforts and the Olsen Twins, and if you think that Aunt Bee is sexier than Nicole Kidman, then this is the league for you.

The ACL is in the playoffs of it's 173rd season and requires a Montreal Expos owner for the next season. We will be using ootp6 (because we are stupid).

We sim 7 days a sim, 3 sims a week. There are no cash prizes, just humiliation heaped on abuse for winning. And for losing.

The owners are a motley (Having elements of great variety or incongruity; heterogeneous) crew.

If you want to join, please email the head fool or commissioner whose email can be found in the 'email commissioner' link on the front page. And if you can't see it, then you are the kind of person we are looking for.

Martin, did you guys modify the Lahman DB to get the players scattered throughout history or do you import the rookies by hand?

Combination.

I have a Perl script that I modify to change the ages and import years for the modern rookies to be the same as the rookies from the early season (1916 for example) in the Ankit career version of the DB, and then I run the script. After that I import when I move to the next season.

If I have other players I want to make rookies, I import them by hand.

And then I edit about 70% of the rookies so they can play in this league.

It is inconceivable, yet true, that the Montreal Expos remain unclaimed by anyone after all this time.

Where is the love of the game? Where is the love of a challenge? Where are the risktakers and wizards?

Where have all the Expo owners gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the Expo owners gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the Expo owners gone?
Aunt Bee awaits them, every one
When will they ever play?
When will they ever play?

Where have Mary-Kate and Ashley gone?
Long time passing
Where have Mary-Kate and Ashley gone?
Long time ago
Where have Mary-Kate and Ashley gone?
Turned eighteen every one
When will Bud ever learn?
When will Bud ever learn?

ACL Baseball, join now!

Only a bozo would join this league. These kind of leagues that have been around for 14 seasons are obviously not here to stay. Especially when that 14 seasons are made up of only 7 sim days, 3 times a week. (That translates to over 3 years or so of real time).

Who are they kidding?

When I join a league, I either want a brand new one that will fold before it gets off the ground, or a shaky one with less than 3 seasons. Any more, and they don't work.

So stay away from this one. The ACL has been around too long so obviously it is no good.

Sorry, but I had to be honest.
