Maelstrom's 1st Perfect Game in 10 seasons!

Hail to the Chief: Bender with 1st Perfect Game in Maelstrom History!

In Chief Bender's 1st season in the Maelstrom, he has accomplished what no other pitcher could by hurling the 1st Perfect Game in the league's 10-year history. Just 6 days after a start that saw him allow 6 runs and 7 hits in just 3 innings against last-place Minnesota, Bender was untouchable against the Seattle Mariners. More amazing is that Bender struck out only 3 hitters all game, instead relying on a solid defense to get him through. 51 of his 80 pitches were strikes and he induced only 9 groundouts compared to 15 flyballs, but it was enough. Nearly every seat of Big Mac Stadium was filled to witness the event.

I was playing out a game with my league's best pitcher about a week ago. I had a perfect game going with 1 out in the 9th when the opposing catcher stroked a single between the first and second baseman. The next guy promptly grounded into a double play. That's the most depressing complete game shut out of all time.

Man I am glad it didn't happen to the "Silly Ol' Phillies".. everything else has this year!
