BOSI and/or Catobase - necessary?

I'm curious if either or both of these are "necessary" per se in the running of a league. Do all/most of the leagues you are in use one of them?

Neither are "necessary". All the utilities are trying to do is enhance a league. BOSI is designed with on-line leagues in mind, but isn't very deep just yet. Cato is very deep, but it generates static HTML files so it's not very online league friendly. So, right now, they compliment each other pretty well. Neither are necessary though.

Answer -- So much that we can get our legs tied together, walking 3 legged for the rest of our lives and I'd love it.

Echo of Joe's comment.

Not necessary, but VERY helpful and entertaining. Both definitely enhance the online experience.

I highly recommend them.

Depends...

If you're not trying to save webspace, there's no reason NOT to use them. If you are trying to conserve space, I'd say if you have a choice to use one of them, choose BOSI, it takes up less room in the long run (someone slap me if that's wrong).

It is for some owners, it’s not for others. Start a poll if you want some data.

yeah, I'm getting to that. I'm trying to collect info though so I can make a somewhat intelligent poll.

i wouldnt consider it a dealbreaker, but the league better have other great features to draw me in, ie. extremely active owners, odd rules to challenge me, different league setup, etc.

i love the idea of and plans for BOSI, but its not all there yet. cant wait for it to be. the 1 neg i have with CATO is that it has limited use for the current year. its meant to be a "history keeper", rather than a "current season helper" (like BOSI). I usually find myself engulfed in it for hours on end after a season ends, but once the new season gets going, i only check it out on rare occasions.

All depends

BOSI...I love the amateur utility...yet I am one guy that wants a GREAT challenge and BOSI takes that away because I know all major changes to my players...1st time I used BOSI, I won my leagues championship and felt guilty.

CATO, for me I cannot live w/o...I am a really big solo player so I want that history...I NEED history to survive.

I won't join a league that doesn't use BOSI. v2 is still lacking some major functionality that v1 has, but even then I want to see that the league intends to use BOSI and it using it for what it currently offers.

I love CATO, but its not required. I can run that myself if necessary.
