The NBSL crowns it's 2014 Champion
The NBSL has crowned it's 2014 champion and is beginning to head into it's fifteenth season.
In the LCS we had the defending league champions, the Kansas City Royals taking on the resurgent Oakland A's, coming off their best season since their dynasty days. On the NL side, the upstart Chicago Cubs made their first postseason appearance against the Atlanta Braves, another team rebounding to make the postseason again. Oakland appeared to have a good shot at dethroning the Royals high powered offence, however Kansas City got off to a hot start and found themselves sitting with a 3-0 lead in the season. Oakland fought back, with their backs against the wall, and won two straight; making the series 3-2. It was too much to ask however, as the Royals put the series away in Game 6 and advanced back to the Series to defend their title. Over in the National League, both the Braves and Cubbies found themselves playing for the NL Pennant after huge upsets in the LDS. The teams were evenly matched as the Braves got out fast, 2-0; only to see the Cubs rebound to tie the series. The Braves took Game 5 and the Cubs rebounded to tie the series again after Game 6 back in Atlanta. A sweep on the road was not meant to be as the Braves won Game 7 and headed for Kansas City. Kansas City's vaunted offense, led by rightfielder Raymond Heinrich (.312 43 120 25) came into the series heavily favored. Atlanta counted with a top 5 pitching staff led by starter Kerry Wood (3.16 18-7 1.14whip). The games were close, but the Braves rolled to a four game sweep, including a 9-2 thrashing in Kansas City in Game Four. Congrats to Joel and his Braves on the title. Bob (KC), Karen (Oak) and Jason (Cubs)...congrats on a great run this year.

Nice to see this league still going strong.
Congrats to all involved with keeping it one of the best out there.
