UMBL Looking for owners
The Upper Management Baseball Leauge is a brand new league using 2004 rosters. The league requires that you own a copy of OOTP6 to be in it. For a full set of rules, please check out our homepage. http://umbl.ootp-online.com/
This promises to be a great league with dedicated GM's I have worked with in other leagues. Check us out. Email me at rewc27@verizon.net or AIM is RandyC427.

if you want to join this league, dont make any suggestions or try to auction off any of your players before you go and spend 3 hours making a list for the contraction draft or spend another 2 fixing your rosters and exporting them. in the end your efforts will have been futile because you will have been booted from the league. if you like a liberal league where your opinions wont be shot down by a dictator of a commish before discussed by the league then dont even think about joining this league. If you like a commish that acts like your dad then this is the one for you. ah, hes married, that explains his bad mood.
![]() Just tonight we had a discussion about the number of offers allowed to try to sign a player to an extension in BATS. This wouldnt be allowed in umbl, so if you want to be in a league where your two cents are worth something then check out this league and put your name on the waiting list http://bats.abatt.net/ Last edited by jdalo; 09-02-2004 at 11:03 PM. |

If you want a child who thinks he knows everything, let JDalo into your league. If you want a friendly competitive league where we don't put up with adolescent name calling behaivor, come join the UMBL. I have run two well respected leagues and all my gm's will back me up. Its a shame one trouble maker can cause such problems. I apologize for airing this out but I needed to clear my name.
Thanks and sorry again Randy

i am in another league where i own the d-backs and have had absolutely no problems with the commish because he is an open minded person willing to listen to his GM's and if they have a suggestion doesnt say NO, but will say lets see what everyone else thinks. IM lifeofsymmetry and ask him if i have contributed much to the league. ask him if i am an active member who acts in a mature manner. i think you will find something of a different person portrayed by him. how can a person without the password to the league be a trouble maker? i had absolutely no power except the freedom of speech, but apparently the members of his league arent afforded that right. maybe because of me he will be somewhat reasonable from now on through seeing that he may just have been a little too oppressive, and if thats what comes of this then i will have at least done something.
"I'd like to point out that This D-back owner is an absolute pleasure dealing with. He worked this trade perfectly and it took upwards of 2 hours to complete. I am extremely Impressed." - Montreal owner on my dealings with him in BATS Last edited by jdalo; 09-02-2004 at 10:44 PM. |

Again I apologize, I did not make this public and his actions are speaking louder than my words can. I asked him to move on and that were plenty of other leagues out there for him to join but he just can't let it go. I refuse to let one person run my name through the mud when I did nothing wrong. This is the last I will post on this, and I hope he will just move on and let this go.

Why in the hell would it take anyone 3 hours to make a contraction draft list of 28 players from just two teams rosters (Montreal and Milwaukee), and 2 HOURS to fix your roster and export them? Also, the commish is a great guy from my dealings with him in now two leagues. You have been pretty unbearable though to try and deal with in my short time of talking with you. You went off the handle with me when I asked you to wait to talk trade until the league was full. We can't even post deals until the entire league is full but you couldn't understand that. Just move on and try to be a little more open minded yourself and realize that not everyone has the same feeling about things as you do. Shayne

I guess this might be a bad time for a cheap plug but we still have 5 teams open before we start.
Seriously, we do and you can talk to the other GMs in the league, and in the HPBL, and in the AHBL, and you will learn the truth. We do have a set of rules and a code of conduct we expect GM's to abide by. But is simply that GM's should act in a courteous and professional manner. Also we ask that GM's respond to all trade offers even if the answer is no, which is something that seemed to trouble the person let go. Read the rules, and if you want to be a part of fun competitive, mature league where everyone is treated with respect, email me at rewc27@verizon.net

in my post that you chose to delete because it was so cocky and arrogant, it said exactly this - "Jason Bay is available. I will accept offers until the day before the first sim. If you want him make an offer on this board and if it isnt good enough i will let you know and delete it."

Right...
JDalo is a good guy, he's never had a single issue with anyone in our league. I don't see how he's making an ass of himself...he's just stating that he's not happy with how his situation was handled.
Let's hope the sun comes up tomorrow after this travesty. |

I already had 4 replies from current GM's saying how difficult he was to deal with. Some noteworthy quotes were he was a problem waiting to happen and do what you want with this clown, he has a sailors mouth and doesnt know who he is talking to. One GM said he got hostile when he turned down a trade. I told him I would not slam him in post but he fired the first shot. I don't like dog and pony shows, evidently he does. I have a great bunch of GM's that I have worked with in the past, I know what they expect of me, and know what they wont tolerate. He wasn't right for our league, but refused to leave peacefully. It's a shame it came to this, and it's a shame he couldn't just leave quietly and accept that this wasnt meant to be. I wish him no ill will, and actually should thank him. Because of this post, I had 3 new people join my league. Every dog his day and I believe people eventually get what they deserve. Again I thank my gm's. I said when I had most of them in the HPBL, that they were the greatest GM's in the world and they keep proving me right. I thank them, the GM's of the AHBL, and some of the new GM's that I am dealing with in the UMBL. They are all class people and I am so happy to be associated with them.

wow, i dont know where anyone got any hostility from over any trade, that is just a bunch of crap right there, that is you twisting someones words or them adamently agreeing with you so that they dont get tossed out of the league too. there is no way you can slam me in a post because i didnt do anything other than make a few suggestions and take a strong posture in trading one of the top young players in the league whose salary is peanuts. then you tell me that my strong posturing is cockiness? i wouldnt change a thing that i did because if someone wants a player like jason bay they gotta know that im not messin around, i dont care how cocky i sound, because jason bay is that good. so im sorry if i offended you, grandpa, but you are just rediculous.

I'm glad you are happy and appreciated in your other league. That is great. I told you there were other leagues out there that you could be a part of and you said there wasn't. Since you post on here, I don't understand how you can say that. There are several new leagues that post on here everyday. I tried to keep things and the up and up with you. I asked you nicely to leave. I got nothing but cursing, and obscene name calling from you. Then you come on here and slander myself and my league. Sorry I don't see that as being mature. I saw your temper and I have no problem believing that you would get nasty if someone turned a trade. I also checked out the BATS webpage and see that not all owners on there don't think you are the swell guy you claim to be. Evidently you and the commish get along great. There are probably other people you could get along with. I don't deal with people who start calling me such politically incorrect as an f-ing homosexual and a b**ch. Sorry I don't deserve that and neither does my league.

Woah...publicity is nice and all...but I don't think all of it is nice.
Though, I thank you for the kind words JDalo, maybe we shouldn't be publicly bashing other leagues? I think there are more apt ways of handling such cases like a PM or an IM. Though, it seems Jeremy enjoyed this thread as well as some popcorn. ![]() Good luck with your league rewc27 and have a small bump.

Grrrr...
I have nothing but nice things to say about Randy. Helped get the HPBL back on it's feet, literly ran it it when I was MIA, and helped setup many of the popular rules that are now with the HPBL. He already runs a great league in the AHBL and I'm sure he'll do just as well as a job with the UMBL. |
