League Tournament
Is there any way to do a tournament? I was thinking of oganizing a Spring Training Shootout or a Tourny for the non-playoff teams. It would be one elimination, all the playoffs team or like 8 teams. Also, if there is a way I'd like to challenge a league for a League vs. League shootout. My top teams vs. yours. I'm asking this cuz I saw it done on bball sims, so I'm wondering.

I think you can't do it with using an exhibition setup.

Baseball Maelstrom has had a post-season tourney for non-playoff teams since our beginning. It's always been triple-elimination. We schedule the games manually and keep track of the bracket by hand. It works out well because it gives owners an extra incentive to stay interested in their teams even if they're out of the playoff race. What's really neat is that OOTP treats the games as post-season games for stat purposes.
We have one going on now since we're into playoff time. You can see the bracket here: http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com/maeltourn.htm |

Once you have these things in place, it's simply a matter of going into league setup and scheduling the games. We have our Tourney set to begin the day after the regular season. Doing this allows OOTP to treat all of the games as post-season games so they don't get added to the regular season stats. At the end of each day, we schedule the next day's games based on the updated bracket. Do this until the Tourney ends and it should work out just fine for you. |

You do this all in the league file? Wen it comes to the playoffs you copy the league file and make it something else, than you go to schedule and edit the teams and everything elsE?
Thats what I got from it. |
