Historical league has 2 openings
Alright, the GDBA currently has two openings. We're a historical league that started in 1920 and we're currently in the 1949 season. We're about to begin September play in 1949 so the current season is pretty close to ending. We currently use OOTP5 but will be switching to OOTP6 at the end of the season. We have finanicals on, coaches/scouts off and all the other standard stuff. You can check out the league site by going to http://gdba.iatricsb.com
The first open team is the Boston Red Sox. You can check out the team by going to http://gdba.iatricsb.com/LeagueSite/team1.html The Red Sox are a good team who are currently second in their division to the surprising Washington Senators who are having a very good year. With the Red Sox you're gonna get a contending team right away that has some star players in Jackie Robinson, Al Javery, Bob Lemon and Lum Harris. So if you're looking for a winning team that will only need a few adjustments/tweaks to become a World Series champion then this is the team for you. The second open team is the Cleveland Indians. You can check them out by going to http://gdba.iatricsb.com/LeagueSite/team6.html The Indians are basically the polar opposite of the Red Sox. They're a struggling team with a lousy record but with the right owner and a little bit of work they could turn the bad luck around. They have Roy Campanella, Dave Koslo and Hal Newhouser who are 3 very solid players in the league. They also have the 6th best farm system in the league so they have a solid group of prospects that could help them out in the future. So if you're looking for a rebuilding project in a historical league this is certainly it. If you're interested in taking either one of these openings you can contact me by email at senatorweimer@hotmail.com or PM me through the forums. I'll fill the spots when I find the right person for each team. So if you're interested I encourage you to take a chance and apply. If you are interested in the openings let me know a little bit about yourself and what leagues you are in. So I can get a better feel for who you are and how well you'll fit into the league. Good day gentleman. Last edited by Jeremy Weimer; 09-08-2004 at 07:55 PM. |

Great League. I'm reducing my participation in the OOTP world so I can focus more on schoolwork otherwise the Redsox wouldn't be open. My loss can be your gain!

I've got to give this great league some props as well - I keep my GM'ing to a minimum (since I run three leagues of my own as commish), but GDBA is one of the ones I'm in (the others are Boys of Summer and the OOL is the other - great leagues all).
You should jump at the chance to get into GDBA - a solid league with alot of history, great GMs and commish, and the "Golden Age" players... - Joe
