Stats Only League (SOL) Starting

I am going to start a new league called the Stats Only League. As you can guess, this league will have no ratings or talent ratings shown. I am still debating whether or not to include “other ratings.” The league will consist of fictional players and teams. SOL won’t use any points/rewards systems to get GMs to write articles. If you want to write that would be great, but I want success to be made from baseball not writing.

I want this league to test our GMs’ ability to not only win for one season, but also to build teams that win year after year. With that in mind I plan to use a fairly aggressive schedule siming 15 days, 3 times per week. (This might very if we decide to use a season league much different from MLB.) I would like to see two leagues that have vastly different park factors so that there is a contrast in playing style and player worth between the two leagues. However, this is still open for debate. I am still undecided about the rest of the options and would love to hear input from those who sign up.

This league should provide a competition a little different that your other league. It should be interesting to see what you do when your star player is injured then goes into a slump. Just like real-life GMs you won’t know if he took a rating hit, or if this is a normal slump.

Please only signup if you really want to play in a league like this and have the time to play. I really don’t want this to be a league that has to find new owners for half of its teams after the first season. With that said, if you like the sound of the Stats Only League, please join. If you just bought the game or if you are already in ten leagues, it doesn’t matter.

I don’t have any idea how many people will signup for a league like this, so I decided not to think too much about the league structure (leagues, divisions, wild cards, etc.) until everyone is signed-up. If we have four teams or thirty-four teams it doesn’t matter to me. I am much more concerned with assuring a low turnover, and high participation.

Stats Only League will use OOTP6. All GMs will be required to have the game (it doesn’t cost that much, and it is a pretty good game). I am working on getting a website setup. Once one is up I will post the URL.

Well, I haven't had as much interest has I had hope. However if Fool Inc. will send me an email we should have enough to get this league started. If you have already sent me an email I will be sending you for details soon. If you want to get in on our first season it's not to late, just send me an email.
