New Fictional League Opening

Triple Crown Baseball is opening. You can visit the site here:

http://www.sports-speak.com/tcb/tcb.htm

It's a 30 team OOTP6 fictional league. I simmed 100+ seasons(adjusting the league totals along the way to get correct stats for each era) to generate alot of history. Right now, the league is in free agency before the 2004 season, so GMs have a bit of say in the team they're building.

Almost everything you should need to know can be found in the rules section. Player ratings are 1-10 overall, 1-5 talent, 1-10 other ratings, and stars are turned off.

While it is states in the rules, I'd just like to point out that their is a $90 million cap. So if you're not into having a cap, this may not be the league for you.

Other than that, all the settings are pretty basic. Scouts off, injuries normal, draft on June 1st, all the league totals are set for modern baseball, etc.

If you are interested, please email me at timmeh@gamingring.com. Include your name, age, OOTP online league history(include links to leagues if possible), why you feel you are a good fit for the league, and three teams you would be interested in.

Baltimore is already taken(not by me, by someone else). As for me, I don't know for sure whether or not I will have a team in the league. If I do, it will be the last team available, so I won't have my choice.

I'm sure I left something out. If you have any questions just email me or hit me up on AIM at "MarWinners", but I probably won't be around much tonight so you're probably better off emailing me.

I'm hoping to start this league as soon as possible, so let me know.

Wow, a season home run record of 95 and RBI record of 200! That might be tough to beat. The guy hit 92 homers in his final season. The next April he broke his wrist and was out for the year and then he apparently retired. Talk about going out on top.

if it is a fictional league, why the big picture of Sammy Sosa front and center?

lol, I asked someone to make me a baseball graphic that says TCB on it, that's what they made. I would have rather not had him on it, but I don't like to ask people to redo graphics. My fault for not making it clear. I'm just glad they're nice enough to volunteer to make one for me.

As for the record, that probably is unbeatable. What's more surprising than the record is he didn't even walk 70 times. I guess OOTP doesn't take the Barry factor into effect.

Anyways, anyone interested?

Looks like a solid league. I wish I had time to sign up, but I'm already pushing the limits of my time. Best of luck to you, though!

dude hit 80+ HRs in four of five seasons, and 75 in the other, and also hit 101 in 133 games in his last minor league season. League totals could maybe use a little adjustment.

Well, here's been the league leaders in HR since 92(when he hit 92 HR)

2003: P. Rosario(Sea); 55
2002: P. Rosario(Sea), R. Alvarez(Pit); 51
2001: T. Reeves(Bal); 55
2000: P. Rosario(Sea); 55
1999: R. Alvarez(Pho), S. Arzola(Bos); 57
1998: M. Mattos(Pit); 51
1997: R. Bohner(Pho); 52
1996: T. Vinyals(Ana); 58 (last time an AL hitter won the home run crown)
1995: T. Vinyals(Ana); 62
1994: T. Vinyals(Ana), C. Delaney Jr.(Bal); 57
1993: C. Delaney Jr.(Bal); 70

I hadn't altered the league totals since 1980 when I put in all the averages of the Modern Era.

I really don't think the league totals are that big of an issue. Staggers is just one of those once in a lifetime type players who dominates the entire league the way Barry would today if he was pitched to occasionally. No one since has done anything close to what he did.

Anyways, teams are starting to fill up. Still plenty to choose from, I'm surprised they haven't been filling up faster.

I know I'm not a known face around these boards which isn't probably helping me get owners, but I'm an active owner in PBL, NAHHBL, WBL, and Stat Geeks...and was an owner in FLASH and OBL before they closed, so it's not like I'm some newbie that you have to worry about folding the league before it even starts, lol.

Join now, I wanna get this thing started!

lol, I fixed that already in the game. I set every team back to $10,000,000 to start. I don't want new owners responsible for the sometimes weird AI. Just I don't wanna upload again until we're set for the first sim.

Arizona in NAHHBL, and Brewers in FLASH. I wish FLASH would have lasted, I was having fun rebuilding the pitiful Brewers.

Many teams still available, including the defending champs in Atlanta and the team with the most league championships in San Diego.

San Diego is gone, but still many teams to be had. On the Owners page on the site I have all the teams that are still available. It'll be updated with more info like names, email, AIM...the common Owner page stuff within the next day or so.

We're anxious to get started, so send me an email.
