Good news to all of you who prefer fictional and historical leagues as indicated by the recent poll.
After quite a bit of work and research, I am finally ready to launch the ELSA (Eastern League/Southern Association). This will be an OOTP5 league. The idea is as follows: In 1945 there was no AA classification. AAA, A, B, and C were used to denote the levels of the minor leagues. I am striving to recreate the 1945 Eastern League and Southern Association. The players will be fictional since data is incomplete from that era. The challenge will lie in coping with the financial strain that small stadiums and poor merchandising cause on a team's bottom line. The minimum salary is $50K to compensate, but deciding whether a star is worth the $$ becomes even more crucial. I could describe everything here, but it would take forever. The website is up. Seasons 1938-1944 have been simulated and documented using Catobase to add some back history and let the financial model "settle." Please check out http://www.buffalowarriors.com/elsa/ Everything you need to know should be answered there. All of the team websites and Catobase are also up. Since this is my first post on the matter, almost all teams are available. Scranton is taken since that is where I grew up and I will be piloting the Miners/Red Sox into the future! I hope to attract a mix of creative experienced owners and newbies (we all start somewhere). Thanks for your consideration. My contact info is on the site, but I'll post it here: AIM: Catch EW20 E-mail: rjw8625@rochester.rr.com Hopefully we can get into the 1945 off-season as soon as possible! -Bob |

Excellent idea for a league, Sir! You have mail, re: Little Rock, though now I'm not sure if it does me any good since I have OOTP6 and not 5.

This is a good idea and Coping with financial strain is really a challenge.
But, there are too many jobless top stars in the FA market. Most of them could not play in 1944 because no team can afford to pay for them. In this system, top players have to retire firstly.... |
