Teams available in the Canadian Baseball League
With the lead just heading into the post season, the Canadian Baseball League is looking to fill 3 team openings so that new owners can get contract extensions done, and prepare their new team for free agency.
TEAMS AVAILABLE Toronto Barons - One of the premier clubs in CBL history, with two Canada Cup victories. The team kept the same owner throughout the first 11 seasons, but is not available. Led by a strong pitching staff with Jim Wright, Cruz Santana and Geroge Minard, Toronto also features one of the best bats in the game in SS Lou Hatfield. PEI Knights - Coming off an 86-76 season, a few key free agent signings could put PEI over the top. PEI's strongest point is SP Michael "Crazylegs" Dumont who is considered to be the best young pitcher in the CBL. At 22 years of age, Dumont just posted an 18-6 season with a 2.78 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP. Even more impressive were his 26 walks in 220 innings. Their offense is led by 36 year old Kenny Murray (.320/.408/585) who will likely have something to prove next season - his last of his current contract. Saskatchewan Storm - Lots of talent, little results is what sums up this team over the past few seasons, although some recent trades reduced the talent level on the club. But don't worry, there are several good prospects sitting at AAA/AA who look more than ready for the majors. HOW TO JOIN Send me an e-mail at cjurksch@dal.ca and let me know that you're interested, what team you'd like, and any other information you want (what brings you to the league/what you can offer/whatever - I'm not looking for an essay here or anything ). I encourage you to apply early, as I'll be looking to fill the teams as soon as possible so that new owners can get ready for the off season.

I concur, if I had the time to be a aprt of this league still, I'd be the one enjoying all that great talent in Canada's bread basket, get this league while it's hot.

If anyone wants to beat on me year after year after year, take Toronto.

We've got another team open once again as Windsor has become available. Please send me an e-mail at cjurksch@dal.ca if you are interested in the team. Thank you.

I'd like to request that whoever takes over Windsor change the team's awful logo/name. Thanks.
