Kicked out Part II
I dont know why the "kicked out of the league" thread was closed but I would have to agree with Jeremy and Dean, of those three trades at least 2 of them were beneficial to the Yanks, not grounds for dismissal... Dumping old guys who are grotesquely overpaid is not incompetent. If these are grounds for dismissal then every owner that dumps veterans for draft picks to rebuild is then in jeopardy of being dismissed... Seems a bit extreme to me.

Maybe I missed something, but the termination e-mail lists four trades while only three are being discussed.

This horse has already been made into dogfood and glue and yet people still want to kick it. Whatever. We made the decision that was deemed in the best interest in the league. If you dissagree, fine don't join my league. Let Andrew into your league. The fact that he wont let this go just confirms that we made a good decision. He has acted immature. He could have taken the high road and just moved on and joined one of several other leagues available, but he chose to make this public. I guess maybe we do hold our GM's to a higher standard than most. I don't think that is a bad thing. If you do, start your own league and have a great time. I hope you get 30 gm's like Andrew. Have a blast. I know what my GMs expect of me and their fellow GMs. All that I did was upheld the standards everyone has gotten use to. If that is a bad thing, I am sorry.

How do we know if were doing a bad trade or not here? and how do we know if were going to get a backlash from the commish for making trades that are not to his taste? With the star ratings turned off it makes it a bit harder to judge a trade since the star rating is a comparison to the current talent in the league. I still dont understand the reason for turning them off. It is part of the game why not have it on. Anyhow, I never got any email asking about the trades the yankees made and how I thought about it. My thoughts are that if the trades were so bad that the trades should of been cancelled and the GM given a warning explaining what he is doing to the league and why the trades were cancelled. Also all trades are posted all the commish needs to do is reply to the trade saying DISAPROVED!! and a reason why. My thoughts on this matter. take it or leave it. endquote

I made a mistake and typed 4 instead of 3. Sorry for the mistake.

Not only was the Boston GM fine with it, but at least one other GM (Toronto I think) said the punishment seemed "harsh." Also, the Twins GM questioned it as well, but said he supported the removal if the GM in question had said negative things about the league on these boards.
Of course the commish immediately responded with "he did." Of course, he definitely did, but as far as I can see all of that happened after he was removed. So how can it be used as a justification for his removal? Meanwhile, no owners other than the Mariners GM have said anything about wanting the guy removed. So far, I've seen a gung-ho commish, one owner who's after blood, and several who are saying, "wow, I kinda questioned the trades but this guy seemed to be really enjoying the league." This league looks more and more like bad news. Sorry for the owners who don't want a heavy hand looming over them.

the commish of this league has repeatedly said that he had to kick the guy out because everybody was complaining and it wasnt good for his league to let an incompetent owner ruin a team....what he has not done to this point is tell us WHY these trades are bad for new york. im still waiting on that. until he comes up with something good(and im pretty sure he wont be able to), i would avoid his league at all costs and would advise others to do the same. nothing like spending time trying to build a winner and then getting kicked out because you're smarter than the other owners.
