Anyone interested in a Negro Baseball League with real players? The league would be composed of eight clubs and would commence play with the 1930 season.

I would be interested as well- this seems like a wonderful idea, and Im surprised it hasnt come up previously (or if it has - I must have missed it). What are your initial plans on how to deal with Negro League defections to the majors - or are we to play an alternate history ?

Teams sprouted up and died out all the time and schedules were never that formal. I think history will have to be fudged in places. Unless one team wants to play 80 games and another team only play 50 while another plays 110 and 300 exhibitions.

Below are some ideas I have for the league:

SCHEDULE: Most likely 154 games so comparisons to MLB players can be made.

EXHIBITION GAMES: I may allow ACTIVE Negro League clubs or perhaps just the NBL champion to play "exhibition games" with white major leaguers (either a collection of white major or minor leaguers OR actual MLB clubs). The Negro League clubs would be able to pocket profits as an additional funding source.

DEFECTIONS: Negro League players will only consider defecting to MLB beginning with 1947. Prior to 1947, however, a certain number of Negro League players will choose to defect to "other Leagues" (e.g., Mexican League or a rival Negro League if our league ownership is not stable).

INTEGRATION OF NBL: After a few years of league play, I may allow for a limited number of white players to join the NBL.

CUBAN WINTER LEAGUE: Teams may be permitted to send a limited number of their young players to the Cuban League for seasoning and as a result a minor rating increase.

I like this.
Will first year players come up with their original teams or be subject to a draft?
I think I might definitly join this.
