HFTC has first public opening in over 9 months

Hit For The Cycle is expanding by two teams in our 2010 season. We had a waiting list around 8 GMs long, but since most on the list had been there for over 6 months, I went through the list pretty fast while looking for our new expansion GMs. Most folks had moved on to other things or I simply never heard back from them. I filled one expansion team from the list, but we've got one more to fill.

We are looking for a GM to take on the new Portland franchise in the NL West. We are currently in mid July of 2009, but I need a new GM who can move in now because we need to begin taking care of all the details with expansion; name, logo, etc.

HFTC is a life friendly league. I do not want HFTC to become your life. Our most quiet time is the weekends. I realize there are more important things in life than baseball sims. You will not be chastised if you are frequently away for a few days at a time or if you almost never post. All we require is you remain active on the website at least once every 10 days, have a team export at least once every 14 days, and respond to other GMs in a timely manner. Having said that, 28 of the leagues 31 GMs have been on the league website in the last 24hrs. Our current longest absense of any GM is 3 days (day before last sim). We play hard and to compete in this league will likely require more than a once a week check-in.

- OOTP 5 League (game required)
- ETA for OOTP 6 unknown (if v6 is a concern for you, its best you don't join)
- Activity is required and monitored, but no silly posting rules and other incentives. If being in the league and managing a team isn't enough incentive to be active, then this league isn't for you. Some of our founding GMs are very very light forum users.
- Started in 2003 - currenly 7/14/09
- Started with Rocco's 2003 rosters, but after 6 seasons, we have a large percentage of fictional players
- Sim 2x a week approx 2 weeks in each sim (a sim month per week)
- Sims are Tues and Friday (exports due 6am PST)
- Trades are processed on Monday/Thursday (1 day before sim)
- Ammy draft in June, 6 rounds
- No coaches/scouts
- Picks/Players/Cash can be traded
- Financial system based on luxury tax (does a great job in assisting smaller markets, many of our best teams are small markets)
- No salary cap
- Cash capped at $20m

- Committed to BOSI - LOTS of custom BOSI features in this league including things like:

- GM all-star voting (currently voting now)

- Nice team page that takes the best of BOSI 2 and BOSI 1 together

If interested in the Portland expansion franchise, please visit the website and make a post in our Waiting List forum. This is a highly competitive league and the road for an expansion team will likely be an uphill battle for a while.

I should also add that expansion has allowed me to clean out my waiting list. So for the first time in 9 months our waiting list is empty. So if expansion is not right for you, but you'd like to join, feel free to post in the Waiting List forum to join the list.

this league is absolutely amazing. dave is one of the most dedicated commissioners ive ever seen. he does a great job with the website and the bosi site making sure that there is more information than you could ever possibly hope to digest. the owners in the league are also very good. we generally have a 5-6 page debate every other day or so on something that happens within the league.

if you can stomach starting from scratch then you should go for it because this league will not disappoint. and of course dave mentioned that we havent had an owner change in 2.5 seasons(since i took over).
