Lords of Baseball (Talent Only League)...Still looking !
We've just finished the 1991 season and one of our members has left the league (St. Louis Cardinals) due to going to Bahrain (Good luck Rob) and his not being able to remain an active member of the league. The league will be entering the off-season shortly after my running Catobase and the editing of the rookie class. This years big free agent is superstar Barry Bonds who will no doubt be the N.L. MVP after having a great season. He also was the MVP of the World Series which saw the Pittsburgh Pirates winning the World Championship. Bonds would not accept a contract extension because the amount of money was not enough in Bond's eyes, which saw him turn down a $52.5M, 3 year deal to remain with the club. The Cardinals after winning the division in 1990 faltered in 1991 due to the lack of pitching, not because of the lack of talent, but due to the pitching underachieving. The Cardinal's feature some fine players such as Pedro Guerrero, Carlos Baerga, Willie McGee, Ray Lankford, Joe Magrane, Ken Hill and many others. The Cardinals are expected to bounce back in 1992.
The Lords of Baseball is a "Talent Only" league which started in the year of 1990 and we have a good mature group of GM's within the league. Our rules are abit different in that we feature restricted free agents with compensation of draft picks if a player signs with another club. We also have the Arizona Instructional League where players can be sent to A.I.L. if they encounter talent hits to restore their original ability. All players were hand edited by me in the original league file and are accurately portrayed along with accurate defensive ratings, even to the extent of a catchers correct stats of passed balls. I take alot of time to make sure the season stats match up with the real stats of Major League Baseball for each year played. If your interested visit our website and feel free to look around. When I look for a new GM to join our league I always check their background within the leagues they belong to and will even ask around to see what a GM's reputation is among the OOTP world. Before applying, please read our rules section and then if interested, please fill out an team application located on the main website page. The more info you can provide me the better chance of your being a part of our league. Thanks and look forward to talking to many of you. Just to put in a recomendation for what is a great league.
Parity was the watchword in the NL this year - with the exception of the Pirates, most teams were in with at least a shout going into September. St. Louis are just one season shy of being the dominant force, when they won the most games in the NL are were only kept out of the WS by destiny, in the form of the New York Mets. Great league, BC! |
