Little Rock, Mobile open in the S.A.
This is yet another ad for the EL/SA combination of the old Class A structure from the '40's - http://www.buffalowarriors.com/elsa/
We have been filling openings recently, but still have 3 more. I am looking for owners who emotionally invest in their teams and players. I am trying to create a complete history of this league of 35 seasons or more. We use a Catobase to lend to the history and realism. What is paramount in this league is having fun, whether you win or lose. The financial model is a challenge, but a good one. It will make you think! Participation of owners who take over computer squads will make it more fun for everyone. We have three teams that have opened up since the start of the year due to various reasons. You could be the one who brings these teams financial stability and championships! We are currently almost finished with our first human-controlled season. The Atlanta Crackers and Utica Blue Sox are in place to win their respective pennants. Luckily, the top two teams in each league make our playoff tournament. The teams available for takover are Albany, Mobile, and Little Rock. Albany is the defending league champion and sits in third place, only 1.5 games out of a playoff berth, with a 65-56 record. The Senators have 17 games remaining over two sims in which to make a move! Little Rock sits at 53-69 despite being tied for 5th in team homeruns. Mobile has started 55-67 and is in line for a top 6 draft pick in 1946. Mobile is the biggest challenge of all the teams despite their record due to their financial constraints. They do hit well for average and steal bases. Their pitching staff is good at avoiding walks. We hold live sims every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The sim schedule is an alternating 7/8/7 and 8/7/8 schedule to facilitate better use of the DL and make sure owners don't feel rushed. Please E-mail me at the address below if interested! It would be great to have you be a part of the league as we move forward into 1946! -Bob rjw8625@rochester.rr.com <!-- / message --><!-- sig --><!-- / message --><!-- sig --> |

bump
One sim to go in the 1945 regular season! Mobile is now 57-72, in line for the 4th pick in the 1946 draft! Little Rock improved to 58-71, but still would pick 5th. Albany is sliding out of playoff contention at 68-60. It would be beneficial to fill these openings before the offseason so arbitration releases and other important decisions can be made! -Bob |

Canadiancreed,
Unfortunately we use OOTP5. And financials are on. But it is a unique financial system. Stadiums are dramatically smaller and all other revenues are fixed through 1960 except for merchandising. (which grows about 50K per season). Our minimum salary is 50K so the entire salary structure is reduced. (With the exception of some computer initiated contracts during the pre-human control era). But its fun, and its a challenge, and the historical aspect makes it more fun, especially when you spend some time on it and start to identify players w franchises via our Catobase. I hope these things don't sour you too much on the idea. -Bob |
