New Fictional Online League

I am thinking about starting an online league. It will be called the Professional Baseball Associatioon of America (PBAA, if you look in my sig, you will see it referenced). It is a fictional league with fictional rosters, all options on, and no salary cap.The league structure is 32 teams, 4 teams in each division, 4 division in each league, 2 leagues. There is no DH in either league. Right now I am using the standard OOTP6 schedule generated at league creation but this can be changed.
I manage the New York team but I am thinking about getting out and being just a commish. I have no web site yet but I will at some point. Would anyone be interested.

Oh, and just so you know, I have stadiums for the league. If people join, I will send you the images and the dat files.

Suggestions are welcome. Please let me know if you are interested. If you belong to the WWBL or if you belong to TUBF, let me know, you guys get first dibs!

Oh, and by the way, I am currently running the league as a solo manager league, however, I will probably make a brand new league file with brand new players. Would anyone be upset if I did not do initial sims or is this the general practice to get rid of the scrubs? I kinda like the idea of starting a new leauge and creating the history ourselves. Please let me know if you are interested and I will create a mailing list to keep you updated. I will be looking for web space and a forum etc. Any advice would be helpful as I have never done this before.

I hope everything goes well with your new league, but let me caution you - getting 32 committed owners for a fictional online league will be a daunting task. You may want to consider starting at half that and expanding to 20 or 24 teams if all goes well.

Well, I am not opposed to contracting the league, but I would really like to give this a shot. The beauty of OOTP versus baseball card games (APBA, Replay, etc) is that if you don't have a committed owner, I can take over a team, and the AI can certainly do that as well.

I agree that that's a lot of teams. It'll be a big chore to keep the league full.

I think you still give it a shot if that's what you want to do. I'm sure there's someone out there that can make it happen. Folks are making 32 teams work with FOF leagues. This can work as well.

Oh, I know you are not trying to deter me. I was doing this league as a solo league and I want to restart it as an online league. I am aware that 32 teams is a large amount, but again, that's the beauty of computer simming. The AI can take over teams that need to when it needs to. Unlike APBA or Replay Card Game Leagues, you don't always NEED the human player. You are all right though, it will be a chore, but that's why its a hobby

Are any of you actually interested in being members and helping me get this thing off the ground? As soon as I get a website (which will be sometime this week) I will post the league pages and such.

Let me know if I can add you guys to the mailing list.

Giving my thread a bump. I have web space for the league. Next I need to find a forum that I can use.

This weekend I plan to create the league file and then post the HTML reports and the league file to the web site for download.

If you have "quality" webspace (which I'm sure you do) then you can use free programs to generate a forum contained on that webspace. In fact, I'd be surprised if your hosting company doesn't provide such a program for you.
