One of OOTP's best Historic's has an opening

The Golden Age of Baseball(GABL) has 1 definite opening, and possibly a couple of others as we head into the 1978 season. GABL is a historically accurate league that uses Ankits DB and started in 1977 and is heading into it's 2nd full season. We use the OOTP5 game engine, and have a dedicated group of GM's whom the majority of had played in various ootp leagues in the past with me and had proven themselves to be good, active, fun individuals to be around. The initial recruitment was by invite only, and we've added a handful of guys since then. We sim 3 times/week on a 7/8/7 schedule, and sims take place M/W/F, with the majority being held live. Not one sim was missed the first year, and I don't intend to have sims missed ever, if I can help it. We do things differently than other historic leagues in that, rather than import rookies from Ankits DB, and importing them in the year they appeared in the majors, and importing them major league or near major league ready, I CREATE ALL ROOKIES IN THE YEAR THEY WERE DRAFTED thereby needing some development, like in actual major league baseball. We will be expanding in the same years MLB did as well, and changing team names/locations as well, all in an effort to remain as historically accurate as possible. We use both CATO and BOSI. The team that is definitely open is the Minnesota Twins. The Twins finished 1977 with an 80-82 record and were led by Rod Carew, who led the AL in batting average, hits and obp, as well as starting pitcher Dave Goltz who won 22 games with a 2.96 era. Goltz is signed for 4 more years and is only 28, Carew is signed for 2 more years and is 32. Their first round draft choice was 4.5 star SP-Charlie Lea, who pitched most of his real-life major league career with the Montreal Expos. They have 26 mil in cash, a 49 mil payroll, and are on pace to gross another 12 or 13 mil in 78. They definitely have some payroll flexibility. Their minor league system is ranked 22 out of 26 teams. We have 2 other teams that "may" be open, the White Sox and the Rangers. You can view everything you need to know about the league at www.goldenageofbaseball.com. If you have an interest in the Twins, or one of the other franchises, please email me at mandersen@gotucson.com or IM me at AndersenMat. We have completed off season free agency, and are heading towards the 2nd round of the ammy draft. We hope to begin the 78 season next week at some point.

Once again, openings are going very quickly. The Twins and Rangers have both been filled, but I would still like to find an active White Sox owner. This is a league that typically doesn't have openings, and when it does, they don't last. Take a look if you'd like to be part of a great ootp league. www.goldenageofbaseball.com

Once again, all teams filled in a day. I'd like to thank all who applied, it's the great GM's of this community that make this league what it is. We are STRIVING to be the best Historic League in OOTP. If you missed the boat and would like to be considered for future openings, please go to our site and place your contact info in the GM sections in the Forums. Thanks again guys.
