The TUBF is looking for owners
Some of you may have heard me talk about The Ultimate Baseball Federation (TUBF), and may have seen a page or two about a player or two from time-to-time. One such thread in the OOTP forum entitled "299 wins and a CEI" is about arguably the best pitcher ever in TUBF.
TUBF is a 20-team, fictional league that has been occupying time over the last few months simulating seasons, starting with 1901, and recently completing 2004. With 104 seasons of history, TUBF is now ready to go online. Over those 104 seasons, a level of parity unmatched by MLB has been achieved, as only one team, the Albuquerque Conquistadors, once claimed by OOTPD member PotatoPeeler, has won as many as nine titles, which is exacly how many the CQs have. We've also got a Cubs-like watch, as the New York Blizzard, who won their first title in 1951, have forced their fans through 53 years of heartache, having yet to win another. TUBF is a league with a mix of OOTP vets and newbies, including its commissioner. While I've played versions 5 and 6, along with a short time with OOTP4, this will be the first league where I've acted as commissioner, outside of my solo leagues, of course. For that reason, I welcome owners who are trying to "break in" to the world of OOTP online leagues, and have a few owners already who are cutting their online teeth with TUBF. We operate with an $80 million salary cap, 40-man rosters without in-game waivers (no DFA), and a few other things, all of which can be viewed in the rules section and forums at www.tubf.net. In the future, I hope to implement other, more advanced things which so many leagues have found success with, such as stadium improvements and the like, but for now, my main goal is to familiarize others with the online GM feature, and have a little fun along the way. As the commish, I don't intend on owning a team. What I will be doing is all of the regular commish stuff, maintaining the website, and managing any teams that may be between owners; doing things such as setting lineups and maintaining roster requirements and injuries. In other words, enough to keep the team competitive, but not so much as to drastically change it for the next owner. So, if you're interested, please get in touch with me here via pm, or at commish@tubf.net. All I ask is that you bring with you a little tolerance for some who are still getting familiar with this excellent game, and a desire to have fun. Lastly, the following teams are currently available, and the updated owners list can be found by navigating to www.tubf.net and clicking on the Owners link. Albuquerque Conquistadors Boston Attack Baltimore Battalion Newark Pilots Seattle Monsoon Louisville Fire Sault Ste. Marie Moose Wichita Colts Carolina Spartans Centerville Hicks New York Blizzard Oh, almost forgot... many of the fine logos for the teams in this league were created by folks you see every day in the Graphics forum here at OOTPD.

Man, I wish I had more time.
![]() It looks like an outstanding league. Best of luck filling your vacancies. I get the feeling I might regret not being able to sign on.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Very well designed, and a ton of history to the league. Just curious though why you don't have the entire history on cato? Now that would be momentus. It's still a damn fine league.

The Boston Attack and the Centerville Hicks have been claimed.
So that leaves what, 4 teams? commish@tubf.net

The Baltimore Battalion have been claimed, leaving just three teams. There has been an inquiry on the Albuquerque Conquistadors, and they will likely be gone soon.
commish@tubf.net to join.

TUBF is tentatively full. There are still a couple teams that have yet to confirm their interest, but it appears we are full.
If anybody is still interested, I will begin to compile a waiting list, and you can contact me at commish@tubf.net to be placed on it. Thanks everybody for filling this quicker than I thought it would happen.

As of today, the Wichita Colts are available. We've completed three sims and are in mid-April, and Wichita currently holds a half-game lead at the top of the World North division. For some more info and history on the Wichita franchise, please visit www.tubf.net and look around.
We're also moving to a 7-8-7 sim schedule starting on Monday, 2/7/05. For the first three sims, we went 5-5-5, but we're picking up the pace a little. If you're interested in the Colts, please contact me at commish@tubf.net, or send me a private message here, so we can get you started.

Well, it only took about 11 seconds to fill the Wichita Colts spot, but shortly thereafter the Sault Ste. Marie Moose opened up. The perils of starting a new league...
Anyway, I'm sure you've read above about the TUBF. We are a very young league, but we hope to continue on for a long, long time. If you are interested in the Moose, please contact me via private message here, or at commish@tubf.net Thanks.

As of this morning, the Moose are still available. Their Super Bowl party is looking to be a rather somber event, as they begin to wonder why nobody likes them. Help the Moose's party. Perhaps they'll even invite you along!

Sault Ste. Marie is still open, and will soon be placed under league management. We all know how much that sucks, right? They are quickly becoming the Expos of TUBF. Save them from that, okay?
