Seeking applicants for expansion teams in hybrid league
Super Happy Smile Challenge Victory League is currently in its sixth season and is seeking prospective owners interested in possible expansion teams next season or beyond.
The BBSC-based league started with an entirely fictional pool of players in the 2003 season. In 2005 a class of eight failed Major Leaguers including Josh Hamilton, Drew Henson and Todd Van Poppel crossed over to the league, mostly enjoying great success since then. We have also had Japanese pitcher Satoru Kanemura and the first female professional baseball player, Ila Borders, join the league in more recent seasons. The league is constantly evolving. We recently incorporated an amateur draft lottery and this season will begin an attempt at Minor League championships and free agent arbitration/compensation. Ownership almost entirely consists of a class of veteran BBSC posters. It is a tight-knit group, some of whom have been on the board for 2-3 years or even longer and are in several other leagues together. Accountability is a must, creativity is a plus. It is almost entirely a fictional league and will stay that way, with the occasional real-life player to keep things interesting. Expansion has not yet been approved but it has happened twice in six years and with a crop of qualified owners should have a good shot of passing. If expansion does not pass, you can be considered for other openings as they come available or for future expansion. If you're interested, please PM me here and include a brief description of your experience in online leagues. A long history of participation is definitely not a requirement but it will help in choosing between applicants.

I see that Josh Hamilton is um, well compensated.

Yes, Josh Hamilton is quite well-compensated. We used to do expansion a bit differently, which resulted in expansion teams winding up with quite a lot of on-hand cash. Two of the expansion teams got into a war over Hamilton and that's where the bidding wound up. Then the signing team realised they couldn't afford him and weren't winning and promptly traded him to the other team that lost the bidding war. They won their division last year but have fallen off this year and I'm desperate so I moved in on him. (And took over first within a week for the first time in two seasons.) He makes twice as much as any other player in the league. And our expansion rules have changed.
