Is this possible?
Would it be possible to set up a league that more closely resembled baseball prior to free agency?
I don't know if this would work or not, but would turning off the financials before you roll over eliminate free agency? If so, turn them off before the roll over, and then turn them back on after the roll over. Then hit the readjust contracts. This would essentially replicate the one year contracts players were on during this era. Your pay would be based off of your production the previous year. Another option would be to eliminate the amateur draft, and use the free agency period as your way of adding young talent. After you had turned the financials back on, the commish would import players that would go into the free agent pool, and then teams would bid on them instead of drafting them(again, similar to the draft being instituted). A shrewd business man with a little bit of luck could add a lot of top prospects this way. Obviously, this is sort of a dog eat dog mentality, but people signing up for the league would know the inherent risks. Thoughts? Is this possible? What would make this a better idea?

I think that it is during the rollover when the profit of a team is figured and added or subtracted from the team cash. So I think that first method would effectively break the finances as well. I have never tried doing it though, so I'm not 100% sure.
