need feedback -- starting a league where no one owns OOTP but myself
I know, sounds strange, but I'm thinking about starting a league with some friends who do not necessarily own ootp. Basically, I will Commish and host the web site; Team owners will follow the leagues progress from the site; All trades, roster moves, etc., will have to be done by email or personal message. And I will need to input moves manually before each sim.
Seems simple enough, right? but has anyone ever actually attempted this? How feasible is the idea? Am I biting off more than I can chew, for what I hope to be a casual and fun league? Are there any unforeseen problems with this format that I'm over looking? This would probably be a 20-30 team league. Thanks |

You very well may end up spending 30-90 minutes per sim entering in roster moves.

How many teams are you talking about? How good are you at web stuff? Seems it could end up being alot of work if your not very careful and very organized

I run a league where more than half of the members don't have OOTP. I have it as streamlined as it can get. I've set up a Front Office page where GM's can fill in the forms and click submit. It sends very well organized emails directly to me and eliminates the guesswork if someone were writing shorthand. In addition, it saves typing for the GM as all they do is fill in the fields or make choices from drop downs. One more thing it does is it shows all the options available to the GM's who don't own OOTP.
I would definitely recommend making such an interface for your website and league because the amount of time you'll save for you and your GM's. Take a look at mine: http://www.baseball.montoyahome.com/...es/Page690.htm
