Kind of what I was looking for too in my first post. I'd like the Mets in such a league. Guess nothing's happening yet.

I'd love the Mets in a brand new 2005 league too.

Dunkin Donuts Coffee

You're right. They have great coffee. They finished second in Consumer Reports' taste tests. Caribou (even better) finished first. Starbucks finished eleventh. That shows the power of marketing.

It's not the fact theres alot of Mets fans on the boards it's the fact they just picked up Martinez and Beltran, lets not kid ourselves about at least 85% of OOTP players don't pick their fav team they pick the best teams.

I disagree, I've seen many user names here that have some sort of Mets tie in. Also, when leagues do start the Mets are usually one of the first taken. And that's been over the past few years when they've been bad.

Me, I've been a Mets fan since the late 60's and now I'd like a chance to start with a GOOD Mets team. Thanks

<-- Mets fan who has never taken the Mets in a league. Why? Honestly, mostly because they are always gone, quick.

I pick my favorite team

The fun of the game is managing a team. If it's a bad team the fun is making it better. If it's a good team, the fun is trying to win championships. Taking over a strong team and simply fielding a lineup is neither challenging or a lot of fun. Drafting a strong team and simply filling our lineup cards is a hoot though!

I always take one of my favorite teams despite the condition of the franchise. After all it is only about the symbols and colors because the GM brings in the players he/she is comfortable with.

I don't take American league teams in modern leagues because of my complete abhorrence of the designated hitter. I'll contain my urge to rant about that blight on baseball.

I didn't say there weren't any Mets fans, but I can bet you any money that the Mets will be taken quicker in OOTP leagues this season than any other and as for not being able to get the Mets I joined two leagues last year that are no longer with us and the Mets were still available, I'll even have a wager with you that the Mariners will be taken quicker this season after getting Beltre and Sexson and in a way you kind of agreed with me by saying "I'd like to start with a GOOD mets team"

As opposed to all the BAD Mets teams I've had before.

I can assure you, no matter what era league I join, starting in 1962, 1970, 1980 or 2000 I'll take the Mets if they're available.

Matter of fact the 1960's league I'm in, I am going to give up my strong Braves teams to take the expansion Mets in 1962.
