WTS BASEBALL Needs 1 GM for Season 7 (2009)
Hey hey folks.
I'm sure a number of you know me from another league (look at my sig for hecks sake) or just from my posts here. WTS Baseball has moved to a new home, and is gearing up for season 7. WTS Baseball Home Page! A couple of long-time GMs have moved on due to time constraints, and a few of the newer ones either couldn't cut it and were let go, or left on their own accord. Requirements: OOTP5, and some GM talent ![]() Anyways, I'll get into the open teams in a second. First of all just a few things about the offseason we're about to start. The Draft Class is VERY deep, to the point where every team is basically guarenteed a good prospect, maybe even two. The Free Agent market is a very good one, particularly for pitching. The talent level in this league is on the high side, so whatever franchise you select will have at least something to work with in that department. All the open franchises have been stabalized financially, and are in good shape for the upcoming season and beyond. On To The Open Team! Arizona Diamondbacks - Perhaps the saddest franchise in the WTS, the D'backs now have a new lease on life. After 6 seasons with only one over 66 wins, the D'backs finally return to a decent financial footing and have a number of good pitching prospects in the system. Not much to look at in the pro ranks, but with a season or two of patience and another top prospect this season, this team could go places very soon. That's all folks! Contact me via PM, email, or AIM if you're interested!!! act now Note: If i don't answer your IM, you can PM or email me, or wait for me to come back to my comp. Sometimes its quick, sometimes it aint. AIM: Cliche213 email: atommyst@hotmail.com

I don't mean to criticize, it actually looks like a fun league (and I like having the Tigers and making them win, its a change of pace), but how do the ratings get so ridiculous?
I'm looking at pitchers with 8 avoiding runs that rate as 3 stars, barely above average. To me, this doesn't allow for much range in between what makes someone good and great. The same goes for hitters. Choi is good/average/bril/bril/bril and he's 3.5 stars and had a .723 OPS. In the average league , he's an multiple-MVP winner. How does this happen, do you edit draft pools, everyone has great coaches, or just some sort of crazy luck? Last edited by mrbill; 02-10-2005 at 12:54 AM. |

Ah, well yeah, once the talent is up, you have to keep it up or the bottom teams will take 10 seasons to catch up (all the talented players have to retire).
I guess it also could have come from the roster set used to start the league? I like a fictional league, at least with OOTP-generated players you can be more assured that ammy draft talent will fall in line with what the initial pool of players have for talent.
