Access while Playing Game

I'd like to have access to the other functions in the game during the process of gameplay. Many times during the course of a game there are pieces of information I'd like to examine, but can't because the game is in progress.

Whether it's how the opposing team did last year in the standings on road games, what my team's BA was for last year, four dozen more I can't even think of right now. I use Cato on the side when I can for most information, but it would sure be nice to have any and all data available in-game.

Granted, it's more for the solo player who wants to enrich his own inner commentary. Nonetheless a feature I'd get a lot of use from.

I agree. I think we should set up a pole on this one. I think its a great idea and I am sure that others who vote would agree as well.

One possible workaround is to simply open a 2nd OOTP window. Not sure what kind of issues you might experience, but I've accidentally done it once or twice with no visible repurcussions.

When you exit the game won't it be saving conflicting versions of the league file over each other?

Everything I've read indicates that process is problematic at best and ill-advised including irrevocable crashes. Surely in a new format, you would think there would be a way to isolate desired data for review--even if it IS an associated game-provided (not third-party necessitated) utility rather than an in-game function.

Here's just one of a multitude of examples I could offer for its invaluable use in enriching the in-game experience for solo pbp players:

I just started a game visiting Savannah and their pitcher on the mound is Herrera, who I notice has not started a game for them this year. In fact, he has no ML stats at all. It's 05/31. I notice he was signed by the Seeds just yesterday to a Minor League contract. Of course, I'm curious now. What is it that prompted a quick FA signing right into the active roster? Did I miss an injury in yesterday's news? Did I read yesterday's news? And so on....

But I won't know more of the details until after the game.

Two windows is a bad idea, accidently or not. You can destroy your league if you are not careful.

Don't know if I mentioned this before(I think I did somewhere) but I'd like to have access to a "Save" button midgame in case I need to shutdown the computer in the 6th inning.
