Customizable News Stories

This was suggested a while back (in this thread)... but I wanted to bump it.

Sometimes something happens in an OOTP game that may not be big news (like someone's 500th home run), but something you'd like to document as part of your league news (or team news, perhaps). I think it'd be really neat if the new OOTP had some way of adding your own news stories when you observe something that you think is newsworthy. Nothing fancy - just a way to type in a news event (maybe a link to a player page or pic where appropriate). I know that technically you can do it now by just finding the appropriate text file and editing it with Notepad, but an in-game news editor would be nice, and probably not that difficult to add.

A lot of people want more in-depth news, like big FA signings, big trades, rumors, etc. Don't know how difficult that would be to program, but an in-game news editor would let us do that kind of stuff ourselves if we so desired.

Would anyone else find this a good feature?

I'll agree with that as well. It could be a huge help in online leagues if the commish could post a new artcle for the league in the game. COuld reduce some of the need for message boards to display news.

I completely agree with this. I have no idea about coding, but I wouldn't think it would be hard.

I already do this on my own by typing up news stories in MS Word, and it's not a problem, but it would be great if I could just do this within the game itself.

All we would need is an "Insert News Article" button that creates a blank page where we can click to add a heading, subheading, and body text.

We could just click on it and enter in whatever we want. All it would have to do is resize the text to fit and center the heading and subhead.

And if we could have the ability to link it to a player pic or two, that would be great.

What would really be awesome is if we could then take the news stories that we've created and post them on a message board, so that would serve as our dynasty report.

EDIT: Just so we're clear, we're not talking about being able to ask the game to generate a news story on a topic, we're asking for the ability to write our own stories from scratch on the news page, correct?

I like this idea too. I'd like to be able to add more detailed summaries of key games, etc...something specific to my league.
