In Game Amateur Draft Utility
this is something i dont think has been brought up, if it i apologize. something like this might not even be do-able, but this is a "wish list" after all right?
![]() I've always thought it would be nice to expand the drafting options for the draft. something such as an ingame tool that allows each team to set up a draft list that can be exported/imported via ftp to give owners control over their draft without having to do things outside of the game. like i said, coding something like this might not even be possible, and im sure its not even a remote priority. but i know as a commish something like this is better for the league especially when u have trouble getting guys together for a draft.

To go a little further, here is my idea:
An owner makes a pick and exports to a special Draft File. Then the next owner comes in and imports before making his pick. Each owner must export after he makes his pick, and all owners can import to see the latest updates. Also, an owner should be able to export a draft list, then it would automatically use the list to make the pick when it is their turn. |

This would be outstanding for on-line leagues. I'd love to see it.

I'm guessing that the coding would be similar to that of what goes on in a "live draft" for fantasy sports. Those who can attend get to pick when it's there turn and those who can't make it send in a list. Would be really cool to implement a timer for those who actually participated in the draft. This could carry over to solo (obviously option to turn off or set lenght of timer) with being able to set a draft list from scouting reports throughout the year so that you could use your own draft list to somewhat automate the draft.

i have a small online utility that i created. it doesnt give owners an option to make the picks themselves...that i do through a separate page. and there is no chatroom attached. im sure there is someone out there who could totally outdo mine, and id love to see it done. if your curious to see what my online utlity looks like, look here

The FOBL uses something similar, but every owner has an account and can set 20-deep auto-select pick lists or make picks when their time comes. The list of available players shrinks as the draft progresses. You can also trade picks inside the utility. I expect this is likely a more user-friendly approach than anything that includes full-scale, league-wide exporting and constant, realtime downloading of league files. Maybe someone else can come up with a better way, though. Dunno.
