Rookie League

The biggest problem I have with the player development in this game is the overcrowding that takes place at the "A" ball level. I've seen the AI teams ruin or stunt the growth of too many prospects because there isn't enough playing time to go around. My idea for fixing this problem would be to add a 4th minor league level- a Rookie League.

The league could work like this:

-No lineups to manage. It wouldn't matter if there are 4 guys at a position, everyone plays every day. This would prevent the AI teams from messing up their own prospects.

-Auto release after a certain amount of time (2 years maybe?). Any player that doesn't make it above this level after a certain period of time is released and is gone from the game.

-The amateur draft could be expanded to more rounds without causing the higher minor league levels to get clogged up. Obviously, some drafted players would be ready for A ball or higher but most would end up in the Rookie League their first year.

-Players could not be demoted to this level.

I completely agree. Most MLB teams have multiple A-ball teams, a rookie league team and an instructional league team where players can get tons of playing time if need be. In addition, I'd like to see either a little more automation or control over AAA and AA in terms of allowing everyone more playing time.
