Expansion and contraction drafts

At the beginning of any season, if I wanted to delete a team, say the Expos or the Devil Rays, wouldn't it be great if the players went into a draft pool instead of becoming free agents.

Similarly, for expansions, each team has to give up X number of players for the expansion draft of 25 rounds. Any player that goes undrafted goes back to the original tream.

I to like the idea behind the expansion team. But instead of having #of players X it should go by MLB rules. I know that u have to protect your a 40-man roster and then after a player is picked u put 15 more guys on your protected list. Expansion teams rarely get great players but they also get guys that teams dont want anymore. So this would be an ideal thing to see in a upcoming version cause i know that it will not be in any patch because of previous post. Hopefully in OOTP5.

The majors have no set rules for the Expansion draft, in fact each round of expansion has had different rules for the expansion draft. I like the # of players being user specified. It allows you more control over your league. Remember, not everyone simulates the major leagues, flexibility is good.

Actaually there is a rule on expansion because in the last round of expansion i had a cousin picked by the Devil Rays and the only reason he could not have stayed with his former club was because of the 40-man roster circumstance.

They aren't rules in the book that say every expansion draft is handled the same way. Each expansion draft has had a different set of rules governing who was elegible, how many rounds etc.

That's all I'm saying, of course there are rules to the draft themselves... but they change depending on the year. There is no static rule that governs all expansion drafts. The rules are made up dependant on the situation when the league has expanded.
