A Couple Suggestions For OOTP5

To make the game more like Real-Life:

1) Make All-Star Game More Enhanced, HR Derby, The "Everyone Has To Play" thing

2) An extra one or two minor league teams, it might be a huge database though

3) With #2, More Draft Rounds

4) More Player News

1. This is EXTREMELY doubtful as it would take coding an entire separate game engine for "one" game. This would not be a good use of time, money, etc....

You can do this yourself, just play the game out.

2. Not high on the list for the reason you mentioned, plus already have a team for each level.

3. You can already edit this in the league setup.

4. This is something that we want to enhance.

How about the ability to hire and fire a Manager, a GM, and different coaches...also more in depth things about managers,GM and coaches. they would actually have a good profile etc...

For the managers,gm, and coaches there would be like a thing where they could contact you whenever stating they are interested in a job or what not....there are other good ways to do this, anyone???

My two cents on this:

HR derby is a bad idea, not necessary. Does anyone really care about the results of the hr derby? It's fun to watch but the second it's over I forget all about it.

I think that renaming player of the game in the all star game to Ted Williams MVP award would be really cool. They should include this award in with the player history section.

More player news would be better, I agree. Baseball Mogul is much better in this regard.

I agree here. The coaches and scouts are handled pretty well (except you can't offer them a contract extension unless you go in and edit their info), but the manager is nothing more than a name on a line for the team's setup screen.

It would be nice to have managers skills like the coaches, or even further enchanced, possibly combined with those on the team setup screen (hit-and-run, steal, hook, etc.). Managers should have viewable stats just like players (how many former journeyman players have made the HoF because of their managing accomplishments?). There should be a way to assign or sign a retired player as a manager or coach with both playing stats and managing stats available. There should be a way to fire a manager in mid-season, other than just changing his name on the team setup screen (and it should make the League News).

Players aren't the only entities in the game. Guys like Earl Weaver, Sparky Anderson, Tommy Lasorda and Tony LaRussa (and their fictional counterparts) deserve to make their presence felt. Managers would be a big boost to the richness of the game, especially in solo leagues, whether historical or fictional.
