Only City Name in Drop Down -- Confusing!

If there are two teams in one city, the "Teams" drop down should put the league abbreviation in parentheses right next to each. Now, it will say something like "Columbus, Columbus" instead of "Columbus (AL), Columbus (NL)". This makes it hard to know what team you're viewing.

Say you had two teams in your league:

Chicago Cubs
Chicago WhiteSox

Your teams dropdown would say:

Chicago
Chicago

How would you advise fixing that?

A current option is:

Chicago (A) WhiteSox
Chicago (N) Cubs

Right... that's not something the league manager should have to do.... file this under feature request.

I'd think that would take ALOT of programming to fix something that would take the commish about 15 seconds to do.

Don't hold your breath.

??

How would this take a lot of programming? All they have to do is to switch it from listing the city to listing the team name?

Instead of:

Chicago
Chicago

..It would say:

White Sox
Cubs

Am I missing something?

What if two teams had the same nickname? What would you do in this case?

Don't laugh.... when the CFL had 9 teams about 5 years ago, there were two teams called Rough Riders (Ottawa, Saskatchewan). Ottawa disbanded, but they're back this year with a different team name, which I can't remember.

Renegades. That's the new Ottawa team.

This is my opinion,

I don't think this is a big deal at all. You can always go to the standings screen and just click on whatever team you want. On the drop down menu if it would say "Chicago White Sox"(full team name) then that would be ok but if I have a choice of either the city or team nickame (one or the other) then I would rather the city being displayed.

I see the problem here, some of us owners want uniformity in their league. When you have 30 teams with "City" "Mascot" and then you have two teams with "City" (AL) "Mascot" it can be an eye sore.

It's very easy to change the names to make them look like:

Chicago (A)
Chicago (N)

I'd say this features goes into the nice to have, but not important at all folder.

But "Chicago (A)" is not the city that the team plays in; the team plays in "Chicago".

It's bogus to have to work around design flaws in the game. If the nickname "White Sox", "Cubs", etc, is not enough to identify the team, they should print the full name-- "Chicago White Sox"

Just for the record...

Saskatchewan was the "Roughriders" and Ottawa was the "Rough Riders" ...I need to figure out who had the name first, though.

That's too funny. If my memory serves, she wasn't known for being especially attractive in junior high / high school. She was always a bit of a hippie-chick. I lived on the same block as her, so her brother Brad and I, as well as the other 20 neighborhood kids, used to play a lot of whiffle ball / baseball in the summers.

Kinda funny who winds up being famous. You never can predict these things I guess.
