Suggestion: making mlayer's overall rating viewable?

Scouts give players two overall ratings, "Current Rating relative to XXX" and "Potential Rating relative to XXX". Currently, I can only see these ratings from the scouting report page, but no where else.

I'm wondering is it possible to add these two ratings into the "VIEW" drop down menu? People are crying for the loss if star-rating system, especially during initial drafts. If we can have these two ratings viewable & sortable on the draft table, this will probably reduce a lot of complains.

I agree, this would be pretty helpful. I just want to be able to quick scan some times and then go in depth when I need to.

Part of this will be in the 1st patch and the rest fully implemented later.

I only suggested one thing, which is not complex at all. How is going to be implemented in parts?

The first implementation is going to be on a 20-80 scale only, while an adjustable scale will come later. (I think he implemented the rating and moved on to other fixes before people asked for the adjustable scale, so that's why it will come in two parts.)

Cool! I didn't think about the adjustable scale at all. As long as I got those two ratings in the sortable table, it will make the initial draft whole lot easier!

So we can we or can we not view sortable Overall ratings with Scouts off? If we cant that would be dissapointing,i dont like scouts on cause its really tedious so i turn them off.

I would imagine that even with scouting turned off, the overall ratings should still be viewable, since the underlying algorithm should remain the same. Of course, in this case, I will expect to see the overall ratings be unbiased as it is based on true ratings/talents and not influenced by scout's preferences.

battists has said that you'll need to have scouts turned on to see it, which kinda sucks.

I didn't THINK I cared about this before I got the game, but now I am in total agreement. It's especially frustrating since, say you are looking at your minor league team and you are seeing who are the best prospects and you just want to look at Outfielders, everytime you click on one player to see their ratings, it goes back to including everyone on the roster. Id love to see the stars back, or at least allow us to see the scout's overall ratings on the rating screen. And if nothing else, allow us to continue looking at what we were looking at before we clicked on the player.

This is something I would really like to see as well. I would also like to see overall ratings available without scouts, although I am much more inclined to use scouts with this version of OOTP than I was with previous versions.

Overall ratings are a good way of weeding through the massive number of players to find ones you should consider looking at. They aren't perfect indicators by any means, but at least they put worthy players in one place together. I'm actually a bit sad to see star ratings go (even though I wasn't a big fan of them when they were added to OOTP).
