What needs to change and what is good about 2006.
My first introduction to this game was back in '03, and I loved it. It offered a simple way of running a complex franchise. Through OOTP6 it only got better, and I began looking forward to the May 31st release of OOTP2006. However, there are things that need to be improved upon soon, just as 6.5 fixed 6. So below, I posted 4 features I believe need to be worked on, while provided 4 features I truly think are major improvements. So everyone, post in a 1 for 1 format so we can ensure things we enjoy never get removed. And please, SI knows AI trading must always be improved. Things that must be changed: 1) Allow the AI to control every organization other than the human controlled organization. ![]() 2) Allow copy/pasted in the depth charts, so we don't have to spend hours making these charts over and over again. For example, we can copy the entire starting lineup from Catcher to Rightfield, and simply paste it while only having to change the DH in two of the lineups. This would be a lot faster. ![]() 3) Too many pages of where options are located. Place ALL of the game options, player options, manager options, etc all on ONE page so we don't have to go hunting. 4) We need email updates when our players on the 40 man roster are healthy, too. Not just when they're injured. 5) The drafts being a little more random. Having some high picks become busts and some 10th, 15th, 20th rounders have great careers. Features I love: 1) The option to not let free agents leave this league. It's great to stop the Wright's of the world going over to Japan or Korea. Great option! ![]() 2 ) Decide what a player of a certain level should make. This is exactly what I've wanted since I started playing these simming games. ![]() 3) Larger minor leagues, including different A levels and short season rookie! 4) Being able to search for any kind of player, coach, etc with the filters. I take this player info, shortlist 'em, and then either sign 'em or trade for 'em. Great feature! 5) Enabling the option to use all revenue for salary, not just what owners demand. In regard to the AI controlling my organization: I have: 1) Unchecked the commissioner box. 2) Become the GM of the Mets, I am not "acting as." 3) Set ALL team control settings to me. 4) Gone to Game Setup > League Setup > Other Functions > Set all teams to NOT allow AI roster changes, and then selected "Set all computer-controlled teams to allow AI roster changes." 5) Downloaded the patch. But the AI keeps changing around my minors. I'm really getting sick of this game; I hate working to make it a certain way, and it gets changed one second later. If I do not select "set all computer-controlled..." after "NOT allowing AI roster changes" than no other team will ever change, so that isn't an option.
