Hall of Fame criteria

I would love to be able to have some more say in who makes it into my league Hall of Fame's. It seems right now that it is more stat driven than it should be and it would be great to have the ability to induct a player based on intangibles like defense and leadership. In almost all of my historical replays, players like Brooks Robinson, Jimmy Collins, Frank Chance, Johnny Evers, Rabbit Maranville, Luis Aparacio, etc almost never are considered, though many of them were terrific fielders and impact players in their own right.

Maybe there can be a criteria such as fielding awards won that would also contribute towards a player's HoF merit. This was also true in past versions of OOTP and for example Frank Chance won 7 consecutive Best Fielder Awards and 9 in a 10 year stretch in my historical replay, but fell short of the offensive numbers required to be inducted and was snubbed when it came to being inducted into the HoF.

On another note, I've changed my league awards names in the league setup/names & affiliations tab, but on my league history screen they are still showing as Most Valuable Player, Most Valuable Pitcher and Rookie of the Year. Has that been noticed by anyone else?

You can induct players manually. If the game guide and manual don't show how, I know others have addressed this already in other threads. But if you're looking for the game to automatically induct players based on intangibles... I'd say that's a pretty tall order. I'm sure Markus will have a chance to address expanding the automatic HoF criteria in the future, though.

The easiest work around, and I know several people who use this, is to set the default crietria so high that no player will ever reach it. Then do all your HOF selections yourself based on your own criteria.

Well, I'm not saying intangibles per se, but maybe something like a number of gold gloves would at least be another criteria. I must have missed it...I don't know how to induct a player manually and didn't know it was possible.
