Player nickname requests
Couple of requests:
1) Simple request - is it possible to have added a variable for how many players get nicknames? I personally would like to see more players have nicknames than the current default percentage. 2) A more advanced request - probably for a future version ![]() The thing I don't like about nicknames is that they are randomly assigned. Could end up with a 5'2" player nicknamed Stretch, a right-handed pitcher nicknamed Lefty, Robert "Wild Bill" Jones, etc. Essentially, we have to avoid the problematic nicknames. I was thinking about possibly adding modifiers to the nickname files. If these nicknames were assigned, the player would be changed to fit the nickname. This would also give us a lot more options for nicknames. Samples (I don't know if this would be the correct way to code these for OOTP): Stretch [min_height: 6'4"; min_weight: 175 lbs] Bean Pole [min_height: 6'4"; min_weight: 160 lbs; max_weight: 175 lbs] Pee Wee [max_height: 5'5"; max_weight: 160 lbs] Lefty [throws: left] Wild Bill [first_name: William, Bill] Pudge [position: catcher; min_weight: 200 lbs] Tex [home_state: Texas] - change the place of birth to a city in Texas Slugger [min_power: 18] - assuming a scale of 1 to 20 Ol' Iron Hands [max_error: 14] - modify infield error if infielder and outfield error if outfielder Couple of notes: a) Weight would need to be adjusted if height is adjusted otherwise you may end up with incredibly tall skinny players or short fat players b) Player Creation Modifiers should also be applied to ratings (i.e. a .500 power modifier would in the above case create a slugger with a 9 power rating or better)
