In game announcements?

To whom it may concern.

I have to say I love the game and have played every game for the Marlins into my second season chasing the pennant as we speak.

One thing I would like to see improved is maybe a link from the history page into the gameday. If Jacobs hits his 147th home run and that ties him or takes the lead in the all time Marlins homerun hitters I would like to be told that in the game, just like when Bonds was chasing the alltime list, every one he passed there was a big announcement.

Saying that it would be nice for it to be mentioned when someone enters your top ten of what ever category you have stored whether it be strikeouts, 2B , 3B Hits HR against.

"With that 3 base hit Aguila now moves above Uggla to 2nd in 3B hits for the Florida Marlins"

"That save from Tankersley has taken him into 100th place in the all time saves in the MLB eliminating Mr X from 100th"

I don't know if its already been touted, but I had to mention it coz im a stats nut and of all the sports sims i have ever played (British male here) I just cant get enough of the leaderboards in the history page.

SI I love you please incorporate this in next years version.

Good idea, but it may take a considerable amount of programming and CPU time to continually check whether this is his 3,000th hit, or 2,985th hit that moves him into a 12th place tie on the all-time hit list, after each play of the game and then find and display the appropriate announcement blurb. Then again, I seem to remember some of this in 6.5 . . . no? It would be nice, for sure.

This is an excellent suggestion, and like most excellent suggestions, it will be passed along to Markus. I know that we'll be making improvements in the in-game text, but I can't promise whether this will be among them.

Meanwhile, I'm moving this thread over to the suggestions forum!
