Sub for Pitcher Injury

Swore I'd seen this and even checked Logged Issues forum. Sorry, couldn't find it.

Largely an interface issue, but here's the situation. My pitcher is on base as the lead runner and slides into third - safely - during the play, but gets a concussion. The game immediately brings me to the substitution screen (and won't allow me look at any other screen) until I put a player in the injured player's slot (9th).

I try to select PR (which is exactly the case!), but to no avail. It won't allow PH either. I'm compelled to select P in order to continue play. Then when I return to the game and finish the inning, the next inning I am - rightly - informed that I have selected a position player to pitch. There is only the OK button, presumably to assure the game I've read it. (?)

The steps can be followed, but not intuitively and there's always room in these substitution screens for irrevocable errors. In this case it should be obvious that I need a PR, not a PH or a P. When the inning's over, if I am asked to confirm my new positions and lineup would be chronologically sensible, IMHO.

Added note: I notice now that the batter in question shows having been in one game as a pitcher (0 IP of course), but nevertheless shows up in my pitcher's filter now with time served on the mound having never even thrown a pitch.

Yeah, that last part happened to me, too. He'll also have fielding experience at pitcher. I'm told that's a design decision.

A design decision. To put a player on at a base to pinch run, select the PR from the position selector, and then find it will NOT allow that designation. That specific design needs altered then.

My apologies to Markus; I was too vague with that reply.

In my case, inserting a position player at pitcher was the result of inexperience with the drag-and-drop, not something I was forced into by the design of the game. What I was told was a design decision was that, even though I instantly realised my mistake and substituted in a 'real' pitcher, the position player — who threw no pitches and spent not a single moment in the field — was credited with three experience at the position of pitcher and:

"Added note: I notice now that the batter in question shows having been in one game as a pitcher (0 IP of course), but nevertheless shows up in my pitcher's filter now with time served on the mound having never even thrown a pitch."

That was 'that last part that happened to me, too'. And, in addition, he counted as having been in the game and was unavailable to be used later, which would have been fine in your situation, since you actually got to use the player as you wanted, even though his position was credited incorrectly.

Sorry for the confusion I caused with my initial reply.
