Development philosophy
The one thing I'd like to add is an organisational 'development philosophy', where I can ask my minor-league coahes to focus on teaching, say, plate patience, or basestealing, or what have you, to my players.
My thought would be 100 points for hitters and 100 points for pitchers, allocated to a series of different skill sets. I'd use the spring trainign for this, but I find it a bit of a blunt instrument - teaching plate patience, say, by reducing defence by one and increasing walks accordingly, leaves even the best players short on defensive ability. A more gentle scale would be really helpful. Just a thought. |

Nice first post.
i like this idea. It's better than the system the game uses now, IMHO. i don't even use coaches and scouts. The only thing i would add is that you wouldn't want the developement to be perfect. In other words, if you allocate max points to base stealing. All of your minor league players shouldn't get A ratings for stealing ability.
