Maybe OOTP could take a page from Championship Managers book and have a mode where you start out managing a lowly team. Your performance as a GM could earn you new contracts. You could work your way up to managing a major franchise. Maybe you could even start in the Northern League with the Saint Paul Saints or something

quote:
Originally posted by hellfrozeover:I like that idea a lot. Someone else brought up that idea a long time ago, and unfortunately it wasn't implemented. I would love to have the risk of being fired from one team and then having to rebuild a reputation starting with a bad team, and slowly work your way up to the top, and then if you become a very respected GM, you pretty much can get a job anywhere you want. One suggestion I have if you want a challenge, join an online league. They're a lot of fun, and way way harder than playing the AI.

quote:
Originally posted by Redhead_Alaskan: I know that other games have modes similar to this and I enjoy playing them, although I rarely get very far before being fired I would love to see this feature implemented in OOTP, maybe the next version can have something like that. Just to brag a little bit concerning online leagues being more challenging, I have led the Minnesota Twins to the 2nd best record in TLB at the all-star break.

|

I would like to see different levels of the challenge mode. I like challenge mode, where you can't edit anything. I think the only editable pieces of data that should be edited are the players name and jersey number.
You could break it up into different levels: Manage only (lineups/depths and the transactions screen), GM only (where you would hire/fire the manager as he would set the lineups and rotations), or commissioner, where you just sim the league and play with the alignments/expansions. Of course, you could have all three and just locked, like it is now. If you have Manager option on, you could have the possibility of being fired, and wait for 'offers' in your 'inbox'. |
