Spring Invitees
I think it would be cool if you could have guys try to make the club during spring training, of course this would require playing actual games and a spring schedule. But I think it would be cool... I am not certain on how the invites work during actual spring training, but maybe they pay them a little to try a shot at making the team...

In the real major leagues, players usually sign either major or minor league contracts (usually minor, which then get updated to Major if they make the team). However, there can be non-guaranteed invitees. If they are released up until the 15th day of spring training, they only earn 30 days of pay (don't ask). If they are released from the 16th day up until the season starts, then they only earn 45 days' worth of pay.
Regardless, spring training games would be VERY fun. They'd be especially helpful for those who play with limited views of ratings and/or talent.

IIRC, an attempt to include Spring Games has been made before.
