Safe lead at 1st/2nd late in game

There are times when I don't want my runner at first to take much of a lead at all...to take every precaution to NOT be picked off...and, as the manager calling the shots, I know that having my player take a shorter/safer lead at first and being extra-careful that his baserunning will be very affected:
1st to 3rd is unlikely on any single, WP/PB not as likely to end up in taking a base, double-plays less likely to be broken up with a slide...
but, in some cases,I, as manager, am ok with that cost...so long as the player does not get picked off.
Of course, however, in some cases, I know that my players will make mistakes sometimes and get picked off anyway regardless of how careful I ask them to be....but, I would enjoy having the option to elect for runners on base to take shorter leads and run with caution to at least increase my chances that they will not be picked off.
There have been a couple of times I have had runners picked off in the 9th inning after a lead-off single, a power hitter at the plate, and my team down 3 runs or so...I think that on rare occasions that players could screw up like that...or, if Andy Pettitte was on the mound I might also understand...but, the guy who picked off my runner had, in most cases, an average sort of rating in holding runners...
So, I'm wondering if it might be possible to have an option to direct the runners to try to take safer smaller leads and be less risky on the basepaths....of course, there are many times when the choice is given to the playing manager as to try for an extra base or not...but, there have been times when I've had a runner get thrown out trying to leg out a triple with 2 outs in a close game with a top RBI leader on-deck. (actually, those attempted triples I've only encountered, so far, in OOTP 5, so, I don't know if perhaps that was already addressed in OOTP 6? ...but, it does seem to me that at least being able to increase my chances of not being picked off would add more active input into the game and make it all that much more exciting and realistic.

Maybe we could start by getting the AI to NOT attempt a stolen base with runners on the corners and two outs, tied or down by one in the 9th or later?

I guess that'll teach me to get ejected... eh?

Someone please pass the superglue!

Bottom of the 8th...power hitter up...runner on 1st with 2 out...down by 2 runs...average speed, poor stealing rating...
I don't care if he has to stand on top of the base to not get picked off.
(sometimes players DO screw up on that and get picked off anyway...but, I would REALLY like the opportunity to increase my chances of NOT getting picked off.

Another time that recently happened was to a guy on 2nd with 2 out.
Sure, its true that the pitcher could have caught him "sleepin'" out there...but, still, with 2 out in certain circumstances I'd like to not take a very big lead off of 2nd.

Could be worse... they could have actually attempted a steal.

EDIT: Whoops... already posted in this thread.
