Retired Players Bug

Brought over my 6.12 historical league at the end of a season. Opened the league in 6.5 and proceeded to the next season.

No problems except for the following:
Checked out the "League News" for the players that retired.
Next, went to the retired players list from the Hall of Fame
Click on any of the players that just retired and the wrong player pops up.

Click on "Doc White" - get the info for "Charlie Chech"
Click on "Charlie Chech" - get info for "Ham Iburg"

Seems to only affect the players that just retired. And those missing players are only replaced by players that just retired. (In my example White, Chech, and Iburg all just retired)

My ultimate goal is to induct some players into the HOF that didn't get in automatically, but if the player ID's are getting mixed up I'm leary to proceed with 6.5.

Hope the details help.
Thanks.

This is a showstopper for me and I will not proceed with 6.5 until I get confirmation that there is a fix that won't require restarting my league.

Some more details on this bug. Not only does it affect players who retired after "proceeding to next season" in 6.5, it also screws up player page association for players who retired in the previous 6 seasons of my league. The league is now in its 30th year (starting 1901, now 1930 and proceeded to next season in OOTP6.5 after end of 1929 season ). Everybody who retired before 1925 is OK. Anyone who retired at the beginning of 1925 is messed up. I checked about 50 players for each group.

I assume that players appearing in the Hall of Fame have their player pages stored in a separate file in addition to the main retired players data file because looking at the player pages through the HoF window does not show the wrong pages.

Obviously this is a very serious bug for anyone playing a league for the history it generates.

EDIT--I converted the above league from 6.12. I just checked the 6.12 league (pre-conversion) and confirmed that player pages are correctly displayed for retired players.

I'm sure y'all developers have figured this out by now, but I'll type it anyway...

The bug is with the comeback by retired players. When the retired player reappears in the free agent pool, the players who would appear after him numerically in the retired player list appear with the player page of the next person down the list. (i.e., looking at the .bmp file or .txt file, if the comeback player was number r500, when player r501 is clicked on, player r502's record shows up. Click on r502, you get r503's record, etc.). The player is taken out of the retired player list file but his player pages, picture, etc. remain wherever else they are stored (like in the "Players" text folder.)

Edit--happily, this seems an easy fix as long as the game knows which players have made comebacks (read here--wishing hard that I don't have to reimport my league!!!)

I was afraid this was going to happen. I had mentioned this in another thread on how I was concerned about retired players making a comeback.

Some reason, Griffey Jr. and Offerman came back in 2006 and when i looked at their stats, it said they're last year was 2003.

Also, when i look at the Career stats in the player editor during the season, it doesnt show the current year's stats. Only the previous years. Not sure why.
