Or, the number of amatuer draft rounds my OOTP 6.5 league was set to have by default. Obviously, generating that many rookies took a bit of time, and since I had no idea what the game was doing, I killed it. Converted v6.12 league, FWIW.

The game was able to "recover" the pre-season, but with the Rule V draft being the first offseason event (it essentially killed the amatuer draft and FA periods).

Curious as to others ideas on this -- or mark it down as YA bug.

The happens RARELY, but is a known issue.
